Reverend Henry S. Washington founded our company in the 1920's. During the earlier years, we operated from two locations in Washington, D.C - 467 N Street N.W. and our current Deanwood location at 4925 Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, N.E. Their children, Clayton A. Washington and Mildred L. Washington Pratt, continued the family tradition of personalized service while maintaining our motto, "The Price is a Matter of your Own Selection".
When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.
The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the goods and services you selected.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.

Henry S. Washington and Sons prepared my father and my husband in 2003 for burial. Because of their great attention to detail and extraordinary customer care. I am now making arrangements for my own funeral to be handled by Henry S. Washington and Sons.
My loved ones looked exactly how they looked when their were alive. They also looked exactly how the Bible describes in 1Thessalonians 4:13, 14; they have simply fallen asleep and are waiting for Jesus to come. Thank you so much. Your customer service is greatly appreciated.
