Los Angeles Medical Center is a General Practice/OB-GYN, Pediatric clinic in the Westlake district of Los Angeles, California, launched in 1975 by Dr. Walter Jayasinghe - a Sri Lankan by birth and a U.S citizen by naturalization. From 1962 to 1966, he was the Research Assistant at the City of Hope Medical Center, Duarte, California, and attended the School of Public Health (MPH) at UCLA, where he obtained an MPH Degree.
He majored in Nutrition; his thesis was on Nutrition and Hypercholesterolemia. He completed his Rotating Internship at Kern County General Hospital in Bakersfield, California in 1973 - 1974, serving his residency in OB/GYN at California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles from 1974 - 1977. Dr. Jayasinghe belonged to a minority, continually having a desire to serve the minority groups.
