Services
Our mission to provide uncompromising, compassionate end-of-life care to patients and families in our community. We are here to bring comfort during a caring journey for your loved one and you. We know it is not easy and that's why we are here. What elevates our care is a team of people focused on caring for the patient and the family from physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, grief counselors to volunteers and chaplains.
Hospice care is a special kind of care that focuses on managing pain and symptoms associated with life-limiting illness to improve the patient's quality of life. Houston Hospice's approach includes the patient and family as one unit. One of the most important things that we hear from families is that we serve them and their loved ones with heart.
We help patients and families make memories and enjoy their lives fully. Our doctors and nurses specialize in managing pain and symptoms that are unique to life-limiting illnesses. Other medical professionals are not trained to do this. We come to you. Patients can stay at home longer because we make house calls, we're on call 24/7, and we deliver any needed medical equipment.
Hospice care is for any patient facing an end-stage illness, with life expectancy of 6 months or less should the illness run its natural course. Our services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurers. As a nonprofit, we believe everyone has a right to receive care. We believe the care provided for the family and loved ones is as important as the care of the patient.
Houston Hospice has a robust volunteer program. Volunteers help set the tone for the compassionate care our patients and families receive. As an integral part of the Houston Hospice team, volunteers serve our patients and families with caring expertise in various settings where needed throughout our ten-county service area.

Excellent support system. I signed up my mom on Sunday, hospital bed and needed accessories delivery next day before noon, meds delivered that evening. The nurse, bathing technician, and phone support nurses helped my family get through the whole process until her death. I was calling them in the middle of night, and I got kind, supportive voices easing my fears and questions. The support team was a godsend.

My mom was being discharged with no further care instructions from the hospital and they didn’t have open appointments until Monday to deliver the equipment l. Well, they made it happen! I highly recommend this company!
I originally chose this company because of their admin patient score, quality rating and collaboration rating were very promising. I also chose it because of their location just in case my mom has to go to the facility if they can’t manage her pain while she is at home.

Hospice is supposed to be about compassion and outside of the social worker and the sweet aid that bathed my dad daily, it was terrible. The dr assigned to my dad was probably as old as he was (86) and had no tact or bedside manner whatsoever. The first nurse we had was terrible. The equipment we received broke several times. I would not recommend this Hospice to any of my family or friends.

As a member of the team, I work closely with the back office staff who make sure the the business side of this nonprofit organization runs smoothly. Amongst them are dedicated, compassionate, skilled colleagues who go the extra mile in their work. Many have been here for decades and have a wealth of invaluable knowledge to share. I am proud to work at Houston Hospice and to be a part of the medical and business staff and volunteers who help make our organization the oldest, largest, independent, nonprofit hospice in Greater Houston.

My aunt is currently in Houston Methodist Hospital under virtual hospice with Houston Hospice. This is the absolute worst Hospice. I have had several family members pass in Hospice care with other Hospice organizations. Never in my life have I seen this much ignorance in one organization. None of the nurses are Hospice trained and so they do not know how to interact with the patients or the family. From taking away her bipap while she was fully aware of being oxygen deprived to telling me it is OK if she is mumbling due to pain and saying it is OK if she wakes up in end of stage. Do not ever use

I came to Houston Hospice in 1998 after I was diagnosed with cancer. Previously, several of my family members had died in hospitals and I felt there had to be a better way, a kinder and quieter way to pass. Most of my work has been in the inpatient center, helping patients and their families and friends. Every staff member and volunteer are trained especially for hospice work. The doctors and nurses are exceptional people of kindness, caring, and knowledge, with their hearts always with the comfort of the patient and their families. I would encourage anyone in need of end of life care to contact

While dealing with the last days of a family members life, we had a group of family members outside due to the fact that their family center was closed to COVID. Managment told us we could not wait outside but had to wait in our cars. Very in-compassionate Management. I understand these are difficult times but if you want there are ways to handle situations better than they did. This is not to mention the poor level of care and little attention given to the patient. Find another place than this!

To have a place created such as this place is amazing! I’m GRATEFUL TO ALL STAFF EVEN SECURITY! Mrs. Regan has truly been a blessing to me and my family! She has the heart for this field and to care genuinely is RARE! Great approach and explanation of anything that needed to be answered and she has been the only 1 here since my mom admitted here outside of my family, Mrs . Regan! A heart such as this lady is powerful yet rare# thank you mrs. Regan for each minute of your time to take care of OUR MOM! May God bless you so much that you can’t bare it all!

My experience was not positive with this facility regarding my mother's care. If we could rewrite history we would have never allowed the hospital to transfer our mother here. Although, some of my siblings experience was different, ours left us feeling robbed of meanful closure in my mom's last weeks on earth. Because my experience is still so recent and my emotional wounds are fresh I will repost at a later date the details of our terrible experience. If you can avoid this place please do so. If not your loved one may be taken out of here before their time. Dr. Trihn and some of the staff are

Before I start my review, I have to make a statement about hospice. We all have spent our entire lives knowing only healing medical care. At the point that medical science can no longer stop your body from failing you, it is time to consider hospice. It will be the most difficult decision you and your family will ever have to make, but once you accept that, the Houston Hospice is the absolute best place for your loved one.
It is true that angles still walk the earth, and many of them work and volunteer at Houston Hospice. I have never been exposed to such a high level of service, support

If you ever have to make the gut wrenching decision of putting your loved one in hospice, although I highly recommend Houston Hospice on Holcombe, I STRONGLY recommend you request that Dr. Trinh comes nowhere near your beloved family member. The nursing staff was outstanding and treated us like family.. (of course they were African American.) the only nurse that was horrible to us was a white woman. (Silver bob hair cut) Im just being honest. Dr. Trinh made my time with my mom so much more stressful than it had to be. She is unsympathetic, no compassion whatsoever, greedy, and just downright evil

My mother was here for less than a day but what I can say about the experience is a positive one. The air there is fresh the rooms are large and comfortable the doctor listed all the facts about what will happen in the near future. Nurse Diane was a Saint she has an amazing energy about her. The way she explained details kept me calm even after my mother's death.

Houston Hospice was God send for our family during the time of my grandmother's passing. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is so incredibly kind. It takes a special kind of person to ease the pain of someone dying and this place is filled with those kinds of people. We are so thankful that my grandmother spent her last days there surrounded by love and support.

Houston Hospice is THE best.
My father was here from Dec 29-January 7th. During this time, my brother, dog, and I all moved in to my dad's patient room.
The staff was wonderful!! We always felt comfortable and welcomed. They were so attentive to not only my father's needs, but ours as well.
I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this facility.
My father was treated with so much love, respect, and dignity.
Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
The Jones family.

I am very disappointed in the service provided to my husband in his last days by Houston Hospice. Everyone showed up to get him in their system and it went down hill from there. All they wanted to do was send more medicine for me to give him.
My husband was in their care 7 days in home hospice. On the 7th day he was transported to inpatient hospice once I told them I was taking him back to MD Anderson. They setup transport and my husband passed away as soon as he arrived at their facility, that was 11/3.
I have not been contacted by Houston Hospice since my husband death. I don't know what

My mother and I had taken a tour of the facility and it was absolutely beautiful, clean, and the staff was very friendly. So once my father was ready for hospice, we knew that this was where we wanted his final days to be. Although he was only inpatient for one day, he was treated with so much respect and compassion. It's been almost 3 weeks since my father passed away and we've not only received a card from Houston Hospice, they've also signed us up to receive grieving information and informed us that bereavement counseling was available if we needed it.
Thank you Houston Hospice

I would entrust anyone in my family to go to Houston Hospice. Earlier this month, my uncle passed away in this location and throughout the month we've received letters offering support from their staff. They were so supportive and so attentive. They have the sweetest, kindest staff that ensure you and the patient feel okay. The hospice is in top notch state, and it's very clean. They have free parking, and its always open, 24 hours a day. Thank you, Houston Hospice.

So. If you're searching for hospices on Yelp (and I know you are or will, because I did), then someone's life is coming to a close (hopefully not your own), and you're looking to make that end a bit easier.
You should move Houston Hospice to the top of your preferred list.

These are extraordinary people--the Red Team from Houston Hospice offered loving care to my father who just passed hours ago from cancer. Every single person we encountered (on the phone or in our home) projected an air of calm professionalism and gentle handling of our situation. We were never without help, or a line to help, and their advocacy for my father's comfort was genuine and rare. The third party weekend critical care team of Ellen and Bridget could not have been more wonderful, with Ellen in particular choosing to extend to a double 24hr shift so my family would have consistency
