PLEASE READ OTHER REVIEWS AS WELL! THERE IS HISTORY OF SHADY BILLING PRACTICES.
It took over a month to hear back about making a first appointment but then when his "secretary" finally called (7/5) to set up an appointment she said the next available appointment was not until 9/5.. OK fine but then... even though I had insurance she wanted my credit card to place a $400 hold until my appointment in case I did not show up. WHAT?!?! I have never had any doctor ask to do this. She said that the "Dr" had had problems with no shows, first off, How is that my problem? And why should everyone else pay

Dr. Weingold was kind enough to give me urgent advice over the phone when our psychiatrist wasn't available. I wasn't even a patient and he was willing to hear me out and offer help. After calling about a dozen psychiatrists in the area (and under our insurance)--he was the only one who called me back. In my opinion, this is the definition of what it means to be a good doctor. Thank you again Dr. Weingold!

Great doctor, takes you seriously and matches the perscription to what you need. They don't usually answer the phone right away but always call you back. This might be a problem for people with entitlement issues but for us relatively normal people, that's fine.

He was my doctor at Thalians, and put on quite a show as a caring doctor & devoted husband. He once told a group of patients, that his marriage was like fine wine, getting better with age. Too bad for his wife, he was screwing a staff nurse named Chris. Not the type of doctor you can trust.

I personally love dr Weingold. He’s gotten me balanced and takes time unlike most psychiatrists just pushing people in an out. I’ve even been making the commute from Orange County to continue my care with him. Truly cares and is a good honest man

Since people apparently think it's fine to rate an entire medical office based off of a single conversation with the receptionist, I'll follow suit and post my review despite my appointment still being a month away.

I had to wait a day or two to hear back from this office, which is normal for LA, since 20 million people live here. The assistant called me and was very respectful and professional throughout the conversation. Granted, I didn't throw a fit when she told me I'd need to wait a few weeks to see the Dr., but I don't get off on harassing people who are paid to

Dr. Weingold is the only psychiatrist I met who really listened and listens to my needs. Yes, despite the distance, he really listens to your needs. So far I did not meet a psychiatrist listening to me and my needs like he does. His advices - not only for psychiatrist problems - were crucial for me. He has a deep sense of humanity, that some could not feel.

Dr. Weingold is wonderful. I love speaking with him. He is very intelligent, thoughtful and wise. I felt safe taking the medication he prescribed. His staff is really terrific, too. I always enjoy chatting with Alisa when I come to my appointments. Lovely human being.

I've known Dr. Weingold ever since I stopped a life-threaten drinking habit in 2012. At first, I found him detached and perhaps disinterested. What I learned over the years was that my initial impression couldn't be further from the truth. Regardless of how long it's been, he follows up on what was happening at the time and how I
am now and each time I've tried someone else I end up going back to him because -- in short -- I trust him. Not so much with the others I've seen.

5 stars. Consummate professional.

Dr weingold under his care sent me into a bipolar mixed state and two visits into the er due to negligence on his part. He gave me too many medicines and when I told him how I was feeling did bare minimum to help. I highly discourage using this dr. After 20 yrs of being bipolar he's the worst and that was the worst experience I have had under the so called care of a physician.

Total crook. Sent charges to collections after letting them slip for over a year (cannot file insurance claim anymore), not notifying me, and not responding to any communications.

Don't go to this guy. Seriously. Save yourself and your credit report the trouble. What a load of BS.

Weingold sent me a bill from a visit 1.5 years ago after I had already paid him for the visit. Be cautious of his billing or any mail coming from Sharp Management Group in Huntington Beach. They are sending phony bills in the hopes of collecting mounds of money for Dr. Weingold. Greed runs rampant in this capitalist medical business. Awful practice.

Peter Weingold saved my family and my life!!! After wasting nearly three years with Paul Fox M.D., who by reading his reviews, has not changed his ways for over thirty years, and sadly, remains in practice, I found Peter Weingold twenty-three years ago. His professionalism and kindness remain the most competent and compassionate psychiatric care I've ever had. He went above and beyond helping me. Put to the test when terrible things were going on in my life, he allowed his practice to lose more than $40,000 in loss just so I could see him on a daily basis. This was around twenty years ago, but

Dr. Weingold is an exceptional physician and a wonderful person.

Psychiatry is a journey to learn coping mechanisms and find solutions to some of life's issues. There is work to be done, and the responsibility must fall primarily on the patient with the guidance of Dr. Weingold. People who have left negative reviews have clearly not put forth the time, or effort, to have the privilege of working with Dr. Weingold. Notice the word "work." If you are not willing to face some harsh realities don't waste his time. If you want to get well and take responsibility for your

Dear Dr. Weingold,

You probably need to find yourself a new receptionist. I just called in as a referral to be a new patient and I was trying to schedule a consultation. Your receptionist was VERY rude, sounding like I was a nuisance to her day. She blurted out that the only available appointment was a month away, as if to shoo me away from your office. I said that date would be fine and then, after a few exchanges where she complained he couldn't hear me and was rude again (she obviously needs a hearing aid too), she asked what my insurance was. I told her. She made me repeat it twice because

Love Dr. Weingold! He is quick, to the point, effective AND every now and then he'll crack a little joke with his dry British-esque humor. I've tried another psychiatrist since moving to LA and it was not a good experience. I say three thumbs up for Peter! :) P.S. his address is in the city of Los Angeles NOT Beverly Hills. Its across the street from the Ivy.
