Named after the Azores islands, the Azorean Cafe specializes in warm, delicious breakfast and lunch dishes that pays tribute to Azorean /Portuguese cuisine. The warm atmosphere and the friendly service makes the Azorean Cafe the perfect place for individual or group gatherings and a nice stop for a good espresso drink with a delicious sweet pastry.

The Azores is a Portuguese archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean of nine volcanic islands of various sizes. The largest Sao Miguel where the Azorean Cafe family is originally from is about 747 square kilometers and the smallest is Corvo weighs in at a mere 17 kilometers. Azorean cuisine is fresh, organic, country and rustic the foods are rich with flavors of the main hearty, peasant-based style of cooking.
Services
The restaurant, which serves breakfast and lunch daily, offers a menu of traditional island dishes, including a variety of stews and seafood casseroles, along with sandwiches, and a cheese plate that features Portuguese cheese selections. They also serve traditional Azorean pastries. I decided to start simple - with a paposeco breakfast sandwich of a traditional Portuguese soft roll with some butter and tangy cheese.

I ordered delivery to my work and specifically asked for plastic silverware because we do not have that at our work. I was surprised when I got my food and it did not include plastic silverware. Thankfully grubhub provides refunds in these situations where the restaurant fails, but come on! Read the ticket! Or just provide forks automatically like every other restaurant. It's simple stuff here.

Amazing service, delicious food and very pleasant atmosphere! This cafe will definitely be my new favorite breakfast stop. If you’re looking for a place that won’t hurt your wallet AND fill you up then I would highly recommend the Azorean Cafré.

I went here while I was staying at the hospital and it was amazing. I had a chicken sandwich, chili, and a mocha. They were all fantastic.
The staff was incredibly fast and friendly. I loved the restaurant's look too, it was clean, fresh and modern.
I absolutely recommend visiting if you're in the area, you will not be disappointed.

I recently moved to Bloomfield, and stumbled upon Azorean Cafe. The food here is delicious! My favorite dish is the grilled chicken sandwich, it truly taste like a home cooked meal. They also have great coffee and desserts. Definitely recommend this place!

For anyone living in Bloomfield or Shadyside, I'd highly recommend visiting Azorean Cafe. Their menu items have a pleasant familiarity of the classic American breakfasts mixed with unique flavors you would not get from other Pittsburgh breakfast places.
We came here and ordered the Chourico Omelette and the American Breakfast with an Azorean Twist. Both were excellent and the homefries were well seasoned. If you're used to homefries having that buttered crust to it, you won't get that here, since their homefries are on the softer side. Beware of the red peppers though, if you're not a fan of buffalo

We were having lunch next door, and stopped by the Azorean Cafe afterwards. We definitely will be returning. They have a great selection of food which includes a number of vegetarian dishes. Dinners at the Azorean Cafe sound like fun as there is live music, and they allow one to bring one's own bottle.

A refreshing little cafe that has some unique Azorean dishes. Also very good breakfast items and some sandwiches. I had a wonderful casserole and had to bring part of it home since it was so large! Highly recommend as a change of pace! The owner and employees are extremely friendly and helpful!
