This was my first time here (it won't be the last!). I visited for a Saturday breakfast. Friendly Cassie greeted me when I entered. I had read great reviews about the French Toast here, but asked Cassie for recommendations. She suggested the Big Breakfast Combo, so I gave that a try. It included 2 eggs any style, home fries, meat of choice, and pancakes with several options. I chose eggs over easy, bacon and blueberry pancakes. The food arrived promptly and very hot. I was astounded by the separate plate holding my two thick, plate-diameter blueberry pancakes. The other plate held my eggs, bacon

The staff working the tables, taking orders, fulfilling drink requests were fantastic...ironically, the food was great, but... BIG but...the time between placing the order and it showing up at the table was ridiculously long for a breakfast order. They must be understaffed in terms of cooks... this is my best speculation as to the reason for the post order wait of over an hour. This might have just been an off day in the back...if you're not in a hurry, give 'em a try!

Today was my first time at Piper Bay Cafe, and it definitely won't be my last!
I got the "pick two" lunch option which was a half sandwich and either a cup of soup or a salad for $9.99. I chose a half Reuben and a strawberry walnut salad. It was the best Reuben I've had in years! The salad was also delicious. Portions were large.
The restaurant was very busy, but the waitress, Carrie, was pleasant and attentive. I will definitely be back!

A Hidden Gem!!! On the prowl for something new, we(my family and I) had no expectations, just hungry and optimistic! Well, we were blown away at not only the menu, but the service and the portion sizes also. Our experience was so favorable that I spoke to the Co-owner and let him know how much we had enjoyed everything! We walked in, were greeted and sat right away -no wait, the server greeted us withing 2 minutes of us sitting down to fulfill our drink requests, our server asked if we had been there before (we had not) and was delightful and patient answering our slew of questions! The food was

I've eaten here a few times and never had a good experience. First time, my sons pancakes were raw in the middle, second time they completely forgot about my order. After an hour of waiting, I got no apology and they still charged me. I waited about a year to go back. I went back on Sunday and it was still terrible. I ordered a veggie omelette. Basically they just threw a bunch of raw vegetables in the middle and served it like that. They weren't cooked and still cold. The toast was over cooked as well. That was definitely the last time i will ever go back.

Found this place on Yelp while we were in the area. Nice beach vibe in the middle of Penn Hills. Service was friendly and efficient and food arrived quickly and hot. My wife's biscuits and gravy looked amazing. Nice homemade biscuits and fresh made gravy with lots of sausage. Biscuits were delicious but the gravy was a little too salty. I had a veggie omelette and it was magnificent! Loaded with fresh vegetables and perfectly fluffy egg. My wife also had a fruit cup which was fresh and delicious and the apple slices were arranged like surfboards. With the addition of a very good cup of coffee

Came here a few weeks ago for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my omelet. All in all they were slightly understaffed, so I am unable to give a value in terms of the waiting, but the woman who served us was very nice. My wife received the cheese steak which was decent but not very memorable. All in all this place has it all! It has pie, ice cream and a diverse range of meal options. I highly recommend!
The only real criticism are the booths which make me feel like a 10 year old eating breakfast with my grandpa back in 1993! Other than that I enjoyed everything about this

I live in the area but had never heard of this place. My brother and I randomly decided to have brunch here a few weeks ago. The chicken on my grilled chicken salad was rubbery and I couldn't eat it. However, I stole a few bites of his breakfast and it was delicious. He loved it too and I'll definitely be going back.

First time there. Recommended by a friend to check out breakfast. Sunday morning typical wait but then another 40 mins for food. The good: Pancakes delicious, home fries also good, well seasoned, nice thick bacon. The bad: Ran out of biscuits for biscuits and gravy, (sincerely apologetic wait staff person,) will not order poached eggs again. Gave option for over medium if chef not great with poached. Oh well, not quite hard boiled. Did not ask for replacement as would have waited too long. Good music played in background and clearly a nice crowd. Will give benefit of doubt and try again for a

PRO Can't say enough about how delicious this breakfast was!
CON The service was a little slow.
But I'm used to a Denny's or eat n park. Food was worth it. Just advising, on a Sunday morning, plan to be there for a little while. But - its a Sunday, we weren't in a hurry and I dig the vibe. Everyone's happy and they have some pretty awesome music bumpin' through the speakers.
Our server was super friendly, and reminded me of the Long Island Medium. Big blonde hair (loved it!) and face done perfectly, all before 10AM. Again, she was great!

This is a solid 4 star place. We were fairly close to the area and popped up on a yelp search for brunch. It is small and basic looking from the outside, but the make a great breakfast.
I tried the eggs Benedict, and was very happy with them. The hollandaise sauce was a bit different, but in a good way. The home fries they offer with or without peppers and onions, which is nice if you don't like them.
We also ordered their bay breakfast. The pancakes were excellent, and large for a side order of pancakes. The bacon was thick cut and crispy. Almost too crispy, but still good. Only complaint

There aren't many diners in the area, so my wife and I were pleasantly surprised when stumbling upon Piper Bay Cafe. The atmosphere was cool, the menu was different, and the food was really good. The only thing that kept it from being a five-star stop for us was the wait. We got there towards the end of the breakfast rush on a Sunday, and waited 45 minutes for our food. Luckily they kept the coffee cups filled and the food came out correct.

My mom and I were in town for a fashion show. I opened Yelp to find a great breakfast spot and the pictures that I found on this place looked like food cooked in my very own kitchen. When we arrived there was hardly any waiting but the place was full. The staff was friendly and courteous and prompt to serve us. I have the eggs, ham, pancakes and home fries. My mom ate the eggs benedict. Every bite was delicious! I only wish I could have eaten all of my pancakes!! If I'm ever in the area again I will most definitely be visiting this spot for breakfast. I would also recommend it to any locals
