Baltimore Dance Center was founded by Shannon Salemi to promote and enhance the art of dance in the Baltimore-Metro and surrounding areas. Baltimore Dance Center's goal is to offer serious youth training along with strong pre-professional and professional adult programs leading into performance. We offer classes in hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, breakin, jazz, ballet, pointe, tap, modern and professional dancer management.

Our classes are small and personalized with individual student attention in a positive warm environment. Our focus is to build versatile dancers with solid technique and strong dance style. BDC has taught dancers from Around the World! Baltimore Dance Center has been in business for 17 years serving Baltimore.

I took class with Shannon, here in New York City and Baltimore, I love her class!!! She is so professional and full of energy! I Love her, she is fun and sweet. You can tell that she truly care about her students. I can’t wait for the next class. I AM SO GLAD I FOUND HER. I would definitely recommend! You won’t regret.

Shannon's hip hop class in Federal Hill is super fun, full of energy, and great for beginners. I learned so much taking her class and always have a fun time. Shannon provides the support, motivation, and positive energy to help us improve. Highly recommend this class!

My daughter loves her dance class. If you have children I would recommend you take them to see Ms Shannon. Her class is so diverse and she gives them so much attention. She offers different opportunities and Is always willing to go above and beyond for her students. My child loves her class. When she misses a day Ms Shannon calls just to check to make sure everything is ok. When I had a schedule conflict with my school... I am so glad I found Baltimore Dance Center. I have never had this much fun taking a dance class. Miss Shannon has reminded me why I love dancing so much. Take a class with her and you will not regret it. She truly cares about her students. In addition, she is fun and upbeat.

Mrs. Funk is amazing! She keeps me moving through the whole class, and is great with beginners! We have tons of fun. Great teaching, dancing and high energy. Love the basic steps that work into more complex moves down the road - I'm hooked!

I've taken several classes and have had such a good time. Shannon is very patient with students who have limited dance skills and breaks down the moves so that everyone gets what they need out of the class. I'm still taking classes and still learning each time.
