Treo Real Estate
The amount of work it takes a real estate agent to buy or sell a home doesn't change with the price of the home; so why does the amount you pay your real estate agent? We believe it shouldn't. That's why we offer a simple. Traditional agents charge 6% of the home selling price, with 3% going to the seller's agent, and 3% going to the buyer's agent.

On a $300,000 home that means the agents split over $18,000! We provide the same services as they do but at a fraction of the price! At Treo, our starting price is $3,000 to buy or sell your home - regardless of the price of the home. Best yet, no payment or contract is required up-front - let us prove how good we are before you pay us.

When Treo sells your home, there are no up-front fees or term contracts, only our commitment to you. If we don't sell your home or you're not happy with our service, you don't owe use anything. Once your home is sold, the starting price for Treo's services is a flat $3,000.

It's the same price for every transaction because we believe your agent's compensation should be determined by the level of service you receive, not the sale price of your home. What many first-time home sellers don't realize is that the seller traditionally pays the buyer's agent as well. Although we can't determine how much the buyer's agents is charging for his or her services, we recommend also offering them $3,000.
There is a general misconception that when you buy a home your agent is "free" because the seller pays all the commissions. This is not true. Traditionally, 3% of the home price goes to each agent. In other words, 6% of the price you pay for your home (your mortgage payment) goes to real estate agents - not the value of your home.
Agent commissions can drastically affect the final home price and proceeds. That's why we believe transparency regarding commissions is of the utmost importance - unlike traditional real estate agents who prefer not to talk about commissions. At Treo, you have access to every commission each agent receives.
The Multiple Listing Services (MLS) cannot legally control and/or mandate specific agent commission or pay. The MLS has "not for public viewing" sections and these private broker, agent-only areas, are where commission and other side agreements are stated. Agents are absolutely allowed to post flat-fees and discounted percentages in these private sections.
