Dr. Whisenant grew up in Dripping Springs and is so excited to be back home caring for the folks in his hometown. He attended college at Texas A&M University earning a B.S. and M.S. in Wildlife Ecology. After a short time as a biologist, he couldn't shake his childhood desire to be a dentist, so he returned to school.
A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by Dr. Whisenant at your initial dental visit. Examination of diagnostic Xrays (radiographs): Essential for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss. Xrays also help determine tooth and root positions. Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
Orthodontics and veneers can be invasive and expensive ways to improve your confidence in your smile. Bonding can be an ideal solution for repairing chipped or uneven teeth inexpensively and in a single visit. Through cosmetic bonding, Dr. Whisenant is able to reshape and repair Dripping Springs smiles with composite resin, without anesthesia.
Missing teeth can be unsightly and embarrassing, but Dripping Springs patients like you don't have to live with them. A dental bridge is a great way to compensate for missing teeth with a natural-looking replacement. Dr. Whisenant will help you decide what kind of bridge is the best fit for you, but traditional bridges are fixed, meaning they can't be removed, and are made of porcelain fused to metal.
Crowns, or caps, are a common treatment for restoring function and natural appearance to damaged or compromised teeth. You never know what a treasure a great dentist is until you have a bad one. Dr Whisenant at Gatlin Creek is a GREAT dentist, a treasure and today, a master in his craft. He replaced cracked yellowing bonding after breaking my front teeth 45 yrs ago with stunning natural results! Love their office staff as well❤️...professional, excellent service and welcoming!

The best dentist I have been to in all of my 50 years. Had to have a crown put in and the worst part of any dental procedure for me is the shot to numb you up. They started with a topical numbing solution. I NEVER felt the poke of any of the injections. Literally no pain just some pressure. They were very compassionate throughout the whole procedure. So grateful to have found them!

After having a terrible experience with a dental procedure, I didn't want to go back to any dentist. Dr. Whisenant changed that for me. He and his staff made me comfortable. They asked how I was doing through whole procedure. Hannah was great keeping me calm. Great experience. I highly recommend them.

We love our dentist! Dr. Whisenant is wonderful, and his staff is, as well. Dr. Whisenant is very knowledgeable about dental issues, and has a great way of letting you know what may be causing the issue, and… how it can be prevented in the future. We feel so lucky to have such a great dentist just 5 minutes away! We highly recommend Gatlin Creek Dentistry!

I’ve only been here a couple times, but every time they have been professional, friendly, welcoming, and quick. I’m moving away from the area, and I’m bummed that I won’t be able to use this place for dental services anymore. I wish them all well! If you’re near Belterra, you don’t need to look far for a great dentist.

We have been trying to find a dentist ever since moving to the area two years ago. Our previous dentist is a family member and no one has made us feel as comfortable until we found Dr. Whisenant and his team. Sandy made sure my children were relaxed the entire time and understood their procedures. Leslie knew all the details of my insurance plan. She explained what was covered and what I was responsible for...before they did any work. Dr. Whisenant was so kind and took his time to explain everything that he was doing. My very nervous daughter had pain-free and easy filling. I cannot say enough

I've know many dentists over the years. Dr. Shane unquestionably has one of the biggest hearts, best minds and best motives of any. I've watched him give dental care to the most needy in a third world country and seen him make choices to give his patients in Texas the most caring experience possible. He's a man of integrity, skill and compassion. I hope all his patients realize how fortunate they are!
