Presbyterian Psychological Services
Presby Psych welcomes and provides mental health services for individuals, couples, and families of all ages, races, ethnicities, faiths or no faith, genders, and sexual orientations. We are interested in what life experiences have brought you to therapy, not what is "wrong" with you. We believe psychotherapy and counseling unfold within a safe therapeutic relationship developed by both client and clinician.

Our clinical staff is dedicated to rigorous continuing education and ongoing development of their clinical skills. As a non-profit mental health center, we also are committed to serving the mental health needs of the wider community. It is the generosity of others that allows Presby Psych to sustain, and whenever possible, expand our community outreach programs.
Services
A diagnosis is a label that does not capture the history and essence of any individual, couple, or family. No one is borderline, an addict, or a depressive. Rather, these terms are labels applied to unique human beings who have developed conditions or coping mechanisms that are impediments to a full life.
Presby Psych's clinical team includes individuals from a variety of mental health disciplines, offering us a broad spectrum of theoretical approaches and applied techniques. Our clinicians also are attracted to our non-profit status and to the outreach work we do in the wider community. And they are committed to lifelong learning.
Presby Psych is a non-profit mental health resource. Our Board of Directors and our staff are committed to making a difference, not a profit. These efforts depend on the generosity of others who may never cross our threshold. Please take some time to learn more about our outreach to first responders, healthcare workers, residents in the YWCA Central Carolinas Women in Transition Program, and individuals who may need low-fee psychotherapy.
Since its founding in 1973, Presby Psych has been governed by a volunteer Board of Directors whose members share a commitment to each of the constituencies Presby Psych serves. Board members support accessible and inclusive counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, children, couples, and families of all races, ethnicities, faiths or no faith, genders, and sexual orientations.
Adults seek therapy for a variety of life situations, including unresolved family of origin concerns, current problems with partners or children, painful or unsatisfying relationships, anxiety, depression, feelings of emptiness, eating disorders, early or adult trauma, struggles with alcohol or other substances, and a spectrum of other issues.

I decided to try this practice after a bad experience with another therapist in Charlotte and could not imagine myself going anywhere else. My therapist is compassionate and very helpful. She actively listens during our sessions. They do a great job with helping you learn the tools to overcome whatever issues you might be dealing with. I would recommend PPS to anyone looking to seek counseling.

I was to receive a call from them to set up my appointment no call. I contacted them and still not clear on what the next steps were for me. The business manager did not give important information at the time we spoke on the phone. Since this is not my profession i would have thought they would provide me with what i needed. Bad Business!!!!

Extremely unprofessional experience starting with the person who greeted me all the way through to the billing department. Misquoted copay by counselor and when questioned took several days to get an unsatisfactory answer. Even the directions to the office were confusing!
