Stayed here for my second time, and unfortunately I had to take off my rose-tinted glasses about the motel. The location of the motel is excellent, and the area is quiet. The rooms are quite comfortable (if you decide to book, book a double room, as the single room is no bigger than a closet). Unfortunately, the service here could be better. It's not their fault, but the innkeepers have very thick Indian accents and it is very hard to communicate issues, concerns, or questions. A lot of these reviews mention pool-related issues, and I had some this trip. Despite the pandemic, the hotel had

Wow. I mean, the only thing really missing from this notell motel is prostitutes outside and glass stems available at the front desk for smoking crack. In fact ALL of the roaches whom once inhabited this hovel all eventually got sober after hitting rock bottom here, right in this very room.
No but seriously. Pretty trashy.

Be aware! No stars would be awarded if possible. Anything convenient or affordable about this place goes out the window due to the fact that my kids and husband stayed here while on a ski weekend and were FEASTED on by bed bugs. 100% unacceptable and disgusting. The management has been unresponsive. We called to alert them they had a major issue and they had no course of action or apology to offer. I cannot stress enough that they are covered in bites and have been uncomfortable and insanely itchy since staying here. I did not accompany them on the trip and was so scared I was going to "catch

We checked in and went to our room... this was on the desk.. we immediately left and went to the office. We waited for 10 minutes because the manager was "in the shower." We told him we were leaving - he offered us another room but at that point we took the $108 we paid as a loss and booked another room about 10 miles away.

Stayed here for labor day weekend. Definitely dated but our room was very very clean. Had a fridge, microwave and a nice flat screen tv. Breakfast was included. A very good selection. Bagels, fruits , cereal, bagels and even a waffle iron to make waffles. I had absolutely no problems here and had a good stay. If your expecting the ritz carlton go to a hotel and not a motel. This was fine for me and my family. Nothing special just a place to sleep while enjoying the white mountains and clarks trading post. Which is not far away.

Went here back in February of 2017 with family to go to the Ice Castles in North Woodstock and was shocked by how bad it was. I wish I got pictures, but I remember there being spots of blood on the shower curtain, the whole hotel, including the heated pool area, being FREEZING, not one part of this motel was heated (mind you it was winter), and when my father decided to tell the owners our concerns at the front desk, they made my dad wait outside the door in the cold until they were prepared enough to open the door.

It was so insanely cold, I cannot stress this enough. When we first arrived,

Ive stayed here many times with no issues.
It's a basic motel room. Bed, shower, tv, micro/fridge. But tonight I checked in went to my room and there was no micro. I went back to the front desk and asked to change rooms. Every time before the room had a micro.
The desk clerk agreed and said there'd be an additional charge of 20.oo+. I looked outside, I was the only guest he had. There was no one else in the motel and for him to charge me additional $$$ for what was included in the past was just wrong. So now he starts arguing with me. I've been staying here at least twice a month

The hotel was nice for the price. Small, but enough room for two people. The staff was very nice. Very clean and in a quite neighborhood. Not much to do in the surrounding areas but a decent hotel for the price.

The reason this motel is getting only 2 stars is because of 2 major issues: The room was disgusting and the owners we found were sleeping in the game room. This is just plain weird.

We arrived and were greeted by a very nice man at the front desk (not the owner), who gave us our key. When we got to the room, under the bed was filled with used tissues and in a draw we found a rotting apple slice.

When we came back from getting dinner, we found the owners setting up their beds in the game room, so we just kept our heads down and went to our room. The next day we found the owners in their PJ&apos

We took a family vacation (3 days) to NH and stayed here. 9 people ages from
4-70. Yes it's an old more rustic location. We booked 3 types of rooms. Single (very small. Shower/toilet/sink outside of bathroom ). Double and double deluxe (both had huge tubs/nice size rooms/ one had a big mirror sink vanity area). The air conditioning (wall unit) in all 3 rooms barely worked it was hot. The staff was extremely polite and friendly! The pool was cold(everyday) on the site it says heated. They close at 9( but the staff let the kids play until after 10). You can play pool there's one table

I stayed at this motel a year or so ago (in June) and found it to be decent, if basic. So, when I planned a weekend getaway with my uncle in September, I decided to stay there again.

We checked in around 4:00 PM today and we got Room 28 (which supposedly everybody loves). Well, we get settled in the room and the windows have been left open and the room was cold. We attempted to turn up the heat and there was no heat.

So, we go to the office to try to find out how to get heat in the room. The room has baseboards (forced hot water) and there is also a wall-mounted unit.

I am the queen of finding cheap motels, usually resulting in spending the night in a dive, but I think this time I may have outdone myself. A quick Labor Day Weekend road trip landed us here. Our 24-hour tour of the White Mountains called for cheap accommodations, basically a place to crash, without a two night minimum. How bad could it be?

The motel itself has decent curb appeal. A cute, classic strip motel complete with a lodge/game room and an indoor pool. The grounds seem well cared for and the exterior of the buildings are well maintained. Not only am I the queen of dives, I am also notorious

Solid accommodations and nothing fancy. Yes, it looks like it was built in 60s or 70s. A/C was via a wall-mounted unit.

PRO
- inexpensive $67 (plus taxes and fees) for two double beds
- spacious room
- tidy

CON
- shower pressure was a bit weak

Three stars. A-okay. Safe, clean, quiet. All you can really ask of a roadside motel, right?

There's a motel area, one floor. The there is a lodge with the pool, the breakfast area and the game room. I guess there's rooms upstairs too. We were in the other part.

Could definitely use some cosmetic updates. In my opinion, you have to go all in either way. Is you decor knotty pine or weird Howard Johnson's?

They had a waffle maker, a pretty stream, working ac, tv, fridge and microwave. Bed was comfy. I would say that a shared clothesline would have been an awesome

After reading reviews, and with some trepidation I decided to try the Stonybrook Motel & Lodge since the price was right, and the location was ideal. My first impression was it was a cute little place. There was a beautifully landscaped area with a large creek running behind the lodge. The man, who I assumed was the owner, was also very friendly.

This is where the positives ended. I was given a room in the lodge on the second floor. The room was extremely small, and very outdated with would paneling and formica counters. Not a big deal as long as it was clean and well maintained.

I am writing a mostly positive review based on the owners of the hotel and the experience they gave us when staying here. They were so nice and went out of their way to build us a fire in the lodge area when we stayed there for Sat-Sun for a trip to Cannon Mtn. The lodge area is a nice touch if you're staying with a few friends, they have big couches by the fire place and then a pool table, several other eating tables, and a TV. The indoor pool was closed when we were there, understandably as it was about 2 degrees out. The motel is on a nice quiet large piece of land with really nice views

Steer clear. 0/5.

I am slow to anger, and have never posted a review like this. But I am compelled to relate my experience.

"Non-smoking" room smelled like a wet ashtray. Uncomfortable to the point of uninhabitable.

Our complaints fell on deaf ears. Hostile manager left us w no choice but to book a room at nearby Franconia Inn (which we found clean, family-friendly and comfortable). Stonybrook management refused to refund our 2-night stay despite our being unable to tolerate even a few minutes in the room.

I plan to follow up with a call to the Consumer Protection Agency of NH tomorrow
