Many great stories come from humble beginnings, and our story is no different. The doors of what would become a world-famous resort were opened to two weary travelers taken in for the night. They were on their way from Boston to Montreal and their stagecoach overturned. The driver directed them to a nearby farmhouse in the small township of Whitefield, New Hampshire.
Since 1865, Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa has been an inspiring New Hampshire resort for guests to relax and recharge. Our surroundings and historic design, combines panoramic New Hampshire White Mountain vistas and elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites for an unforgettable experience.
With floor-to-ceiling views of the White Mountains and access to the prestigious Tower Spa, Mountain View Grand offers hotel guests an experience unlike any other resort in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.Since 2002, Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa has achieved AAA Four Diamond status.

Great hotel in New Hampshire's North Country, near several ski slopes and with picturesque views. The rooms were very comfy, and the lobby had lots of room for hanging out or reading. There was a library and a game room with tables and chairs. The restaurant was good, but a bit overpriced and somewhat lacking in ambience. Drinks at the bar were great, but they could have used a second bartender.

Very nice. Dining room was excellent, with excellent service. Dining room management has done well dealing with being shorthanded, and how to get people who want to work in the door. Too bad they had to reach out to Aruba and the Philippines to get those people. That said, they did very very well. Kudos. I noticed our room and the facility, in general, needed minor fixes/repairs, but JUST made it to the acceptable level, given almost $500/night. All in all, worth the trip!

A really nice resort with an incredible staff that will made your stay feel like home.
Beautiful Historical Resort of The United States of America.
An amazing place to perform marriages.
You can take really good photos.
It has a Gym, an spa and a Pool
If you came here on December you can feel Christmas all over the place.
Definitely one of the places you have to visit if you travel to New Hampshire.

The service is very terrible. Less experienced staff are great and trying their best, but the managers are poor at conflict avoidance and resolution.
The rooms are...odd to say the least. Anyone larger than a size 8 cannot move about the rooms comfortably. The mirrors in the room are too high or blocked by other furniture. Overall, could be more accommodating to people.

I came here for disc golf, but they pulled the baskets and put them away in the middle of my stay! I had mapped out the course on udisc and everything. The reason given was that they put the baskets away when it snows, because the (resort) discs get lost. I stated that I had my own discs, I was told that "we'll hold a meeting to discuss", which is not productive/didn't help during my stay.
What they should be doing is leaving the baskets installed and stop renting discs in those months of concern (if this is such a big deal). That way guests feel free to play as they will with their own gear,

Great looking place with nice amenities but bar/restaurant closes very early. Only odd thing was that I and 5 people walked into a bride and grooms room, and had security say there was a complaint 10 seconds after closing the door. Nothing had happened. We were still taking off our jackets. Security is on edge here, but was accommodating on the second night allowing the wedding guest to hang out in a game room to not disturb other guests after the reception and the bar had closed by 1030.

My fiance and I came to the Mountain View Grand resort on 10/12/21. It was peak fall colors and we had such an enjoyable stay. He ended up proposing to me there under a tree because the view was so beautiful from the front of the resort as the sun was setting. The rooms were great and well updated. I enjoyed the historical aspect of the hotel and it is safe to say that this is one of my favorite places I have ever stayed at. We had dinner there that evening and a few drinks at the bar. The next day we went to go pet the goats in the barn and meet all the farm animals on property. Beautiful scenery

We had lunch here in late September on a weekday. We were the only ones in the dining room. The view from the resort is absolutely stunning and we enjoyed walking around the main (public) part of the hotel and driving around the grounds. It was a cold, rainy day, so we couldn't sit on the veranda. Next time! I expected a first class fine dining experience, which I did not get. The waiter was okay, and the food was good. We will return in the summer for lunch!

This is an incredibly stunning resort! Breathtakingly beautiful and meticulously maintained. We had drinks at the bar and felt so at home that we ordered dinner. We received our salad and soup, however, we never got our main course. There was a beautiful wedding that may have taken away from our experience. The bartender was incredibly busy (and all by herself), as she apologized for the mishap. Unfortunately, we left disappointed 🤷🏽♀️ I still wonder how the braised short rib would have tasted.

Absolutely gorgeous location in the White Mountains! We recently attended a wedding here, and although it is remote, it is a slice of heaven. Beautiful views all around, wonderful venue, very friendly staff, great food, pool, gorgeous gardens, tennis courts and the rooms were great. It can be a little pricey, but worth it for a nice serene getaway.
