Diablo Dormido hosts many of its legendary weddings at an historic California ranch that is permitted to our clients by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. The ranch is located in the rolling Oak-studded hills off the 101 freeway at Las Virgenes Road, with weddings taking place in the courtyards and gardens that surround the original 1930s farm house.
The setting offers sweeping views of the majestic parkland, glorious oak trees to wed beneath, ample parking, magical light and unrivaled intimacy and privacy. To see some photos, check out the portfolio. The Diablo Dormido team will create the perfect wedding for you, working with your coordinator if you have one, or helping you directly if you do not.

Based on pictures it looks like a decent place. Although the price is higher than similarly accommodated places so maybe not the best value. Unfortunately after multiple attempts to take an in-person tour I've decided to warn people against using this place. Two times they cancelled our tours on us last minute without responding to any of our messages. One cancellation was due to light drizzling, the other time there wasn't a reason given. If this is any indication of their communication skills I would not want to have to plan a wedding with them.

There aren't enough good things to say about Yosef and Rebecca. The venue is STUNNING which is obviously great. But the real seller for my now husband and I was Rebecca and Yosef. They were both easy to talk to and meet with and Rebecca helped me with a lot of the planning. When I had a problem with one of my vendors Rebecca was there as my rock and to ease all my worries. They had a great list of recommended people and we definitely used some of them. The day of went by seamlessly and it makes me sad I won't be seeing them. They're truly great people and will make your day picture

If you are looking for a secluded and unique location for a wedding, definitely consider Diablo Dormido. This is my third time at this location and it continues to impress.
The fact that once you enter the driveway it takes about a mile+ to get there and it really does make you anxious to see the location. The views are truly stunning but once you get to the actually venue is when you see why it's worth it.
That private feel with no one besides your guests and vendors/workers and the ability to enjoy your wedding late night with loud music without neighbors getting annoyed.
Lots of positives

This venue had everything we could have asked for - an amazing location, beautiful nature for photos and flexibility to be creative with your vendors. This was the first venue we looked at and we felt so comfortable talking with Yosef and Rebecca. We planned our wedding from across the country and were nervous about how that would work, but Yosef and Rebecca immediately eased our minds. The venue was stunning and so unique. We loved everything about it and had the most perfect night. Yosef and Rebecca go out of there way to make sure you have the night of your life and we absolutely did!

We had our wedding this past July at Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve and we could not have pulled it off without Yosef and Rebecca. As a former planner and total type A personality planning my own wedding was as stressful as one might imagine. Yosef and Rebecca were such a breath of fresh air. They were both so organized, honest, and made sure they were available to answer any and all questions we had.
We had a certain vision for our wedding and I had very specific vendors/types of vendors I wanted to work with for our big day. Which was great because having our wedding at Upper Las Virgenes

We fell in love with the venue after seeing in online, and it was the only place we visited in person before making a decision. It wasn't just the incredible views, the house, the majestic oak tree--it was meeting Yosef & Rebecca and instantly seeing the passion and expertise they have. Yosef & Rebecca were super responsive throughout the planning process, and gave us great recommendations on vendors. Most notably, they introduced us to Dana Gabriel, our wedding planner, who's worked with Diablo Dormido in the past--which made everything SO much easier.

From start to finish, having our wedding with Diablo Dormido at Ahmanson Ranch/Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve was the best decision my husband and I could've made throughout the entire wedding process. The breathtaking property alone was enough to want to book there. But, having Yosef and Rebecca as the leaders of our experience was icing on the cake (no pun intended).
They treated us like family and were there to help us every step of the way (even with our "silly" questions. We had to change our date at one point and they were flexible with that need (and super easygoing

Where to start!? Our wedding was perfect. I found Diablo Dormido by pure luck while researching wedding venues in Southern California. The whole process was as smooth as possible while planning a wedding from another city. Yosef and Rebecca were super responsive and helpful. I had so many questions, and they always had answers! I went with most of their recommended vendors, and it worked out perfectly. My husband and I were blown away at how everything came together. We had a blast seeing all of our friends and family, and because I had such an amazing team, I was not stressed out planning the

Diablo Dormido/Ahmanson Ranch/Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve might be heaven on earth even if you do not quite know what to call it.

My husband and I just had our wedding at Diablo Dormido and it was everything and more that I dreamed of. When we first met Yosef and saw the property, I was immediately sold. To me, the most important part of any deal is the relationship. Yosef made the experience feel very personal and I quickly trusted that he had a genuine investment in the success of our big day. We worked with a wedding planner as well who enjoyed all of her interactions with Yosef and Rebecca. If you want personalized attention, consistent communication, and a caring partnership for your special day, they are truly the way

Our experience working with Yosef and Rebecca of Diablo Dormido was excellent! Yosef was extremely responsive to our initial e-mail and gave us an informative tour of the beautiful venue, Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve, just a day after we made contact with him! The space is truly stunning - nestled in oak-studded rolling hills off the 101 freeway. The second we step foot on the property, we knew that it was where we wanted to get married.
Yosef and Rebecca were very flexible and helpful in addressing my family's many needs for the ceremony and reception. They never missed

I worked with Yosef and Rebecca for our wedding in June 2016 at Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve.
My husband and I really loved the feeling of the venue when we first visited it with Yosef and Rebecca. It's in a beautiful location in the hills that is close to the freeway, but makes you feel a little more disconnected. We also appreciated Yosef and Rebecca's honesty and directness - they didn't waste our time with the sale pitches that you can come across all too often in the wedding industry.
As mentioned in all previous posts, Yosef and Rebecca stayed true to their word

We came across Yosef and Rebecca after our original venue shut down in May. Although we were on edge and still deeply stressed from having to move venues six months before our wedding date, Yosef and Rebecca convinced us on our first visit that they would be able to not only replace the experience of our original venue but would give us something better.
Boy were they right.
As busy as they were with weddings or events every weekend, we could always expect prompt replies to questions and requirement from us, our wedding planner, and all of our vendors. Communication and coordination with them

I could not recommend this venue, and by extension, Yosef and Rebecca (the venue organizers), more. My wife and I just had the perfect wedding, and much of that goes to the venue we chose.
The location is beautiful, their vendor recommendations are all professionals, but this isn't a regular wedding venue. It's a partner who is just as committed to hosting a perfect wedding as we were. Every step of the planning process, Yosef and Rebecca lent sage advice, helped with keeping costs to a minimum, and guided us through all the details ensuring that our special day would end up flawlessly

My husband and I got married at the Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve in June. First, I have to talk about this amazing venue. It was the first venue we looked at. Driving up the road the first time was certainly interesting (don't let it deter you, it's part of the fun!). We kept looking at each other saying, "where the heck are we going!?!". After passing a family of deer we thought this might be someplace special. Once we pulled onto the site we were completely blown away with the beauty of the space. It was so peaceful and intimate. There was such a serene calmness

When we went to look at our first venue shortly after getting engaged, we stumbled upon Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve and the team from Diablo Dormido Weddings - we thought this would be one of many venues we would look at. But as we drove up the two mile driveway into the rolling hills of Calabasas, we found someplace very special. It was tranquil and peaceful...when you stopped speaking, you just heard the wind rustling through the giant oak trees and greenery that surrounds the venue. It reminded us of the inland hills of Catalina Island, a place near and dear to us but logistically

Was a bridesmaid in my friends wedding at this location. As far as I know she was very satisfied with everything. Although her wedding was small the property was large enough for a huge wedding as well. Lots of grass. Beautiful canyon views. Little house with an area for the bridal party to get ready.
Only concerns I noticed was that the location is about a 5 minute drive up a windy road. Luckily for me the amazing bride and groom got a shuttle for everyone. Highly suggest others do that as well, especially after open bar.
Also, the heat can get pretty high around the end of Summer. This wedding

I can not thank Yosef and Rebecca enough at 'Diablo Dormido Weddings' at Upper Las Virgenes Ranch for helping us pull off our dream wedding. They were there for us every step of the way, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I could not imagine the last few months with out them. They took care of all the last planning details, bringing everything together seamlessly. It was amazing that my husband and I were able to relax and focus on each other before the wedding, and not have to worry about lighting, rentals, bathrooms, etc. Because of Yosef and his crew, we were relaxed

My husband and I got married at Rancho del Diablo Dormido on 9/15/12 and I am still processing how beautiful everything was. We sat at the sweetheart table around sunset, eating a delicious dinner and looking at all of our guests, with the stunning vistas and little twinkly lights all around us, and we said, this is more beautiful than we had imagined it could be. From the moment over a year ago when we visited, met Yosef for the first time, to the day of our wedding, he and Rebecca, plus the wonderful vendors that they recommended: Dana Barrett Gabriel our coordinator, Dan Molnar our caterer,

Alright, so imagine cruising down the 101, exiting Kanan and heading south through the Canyon. Half-way through before you get to the beach, you hook a right into a side street and make your way into hills, you keep going until you get to a road that ends with a wooden gate, door opens and you enter the property of your dreams. Now picture a property owner dressed in linens from head to toe with a baby in arm and a handful of dried walnuts in the other. Now to top it off, 360 views of rolling hills, grape vines and beautiful horses. The property behind him a gorgeous spanish villa with a collection

Rancho Del Diablo....It may be called that because its not a good idea to walk down the driveway with 6in heels in pitch black dark...That walk itself is the Devil until the shuttle bus finds you. Lol...
This place is PURE HEAVEN on Earth!!! I got to enjoy the sites of this place for friends Katie and Alex's wedding....Not only was it breathtaking, but the entire course of events itself was so intimate yet, personable and glamorous.
I was thoroughly impressed how the venue itself was not boastfully huge, yet still had 3 separate areas for the guests to mingle, and still have formal areas
