The Mattis Mansion has welcomed visitors since 1883 and is officially designated as a Champaign County Historical Landmark. Its beautiful Queen Anne exterior and warm massive hardwood interior evokes a safe, warm atmosphere for families to make arrangements to celebrate the life of their loved one.
The stately Mattis Mansion is now Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, an independently-owned funeral home. One of the most prominent features of our historical home is referred to as the "Lincoln Room." From its uniquely designed, hand-crafted (1883) mahogany hardwood floors to its expertly crafted, unique entryway and onyx fireplace, the room conveys an atmosphere of comfort, warmth and serenity.

Jeff and I want to thank you for your thoughtful care of our mother and making all of the arrangements easy during such a difficult time for our famiy. Your warmth and concern are much appreciated. Chuck, Susan, and Larry were all amazing! I will refer others to them! They were so caring and bent over backwards to make sure I was happy with all the arrangements.
Heath and Vaughn introduces a new method that makes scattering ashes a beautiful, unforgettable experience. Indeed, "end of life matters, means each one of us have a "love story" to tell about our loved ones. A gentle mist arising from the cremains gives us the opportunity of a life-time to share our stories in a magnificent manner.

I wish I could leave less. I don’t even know where to begin.
FIRST they lied to me about my brothers services, that my sister had planned. I was bullied into paying for said services with the promise that I would receive half his ashes.
I have called daily, emailed daily, with not a single returned call or email.
I will be reporting them to the bba. But do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else!!
They’re nothing but scam artists who benefit from the loss of others! Absolutely disgusting people. Chuck and Larry I pray your families have better people caring for you in your afterlives.

Unexpected death in the family. Impetuously had body moved to this funeral home because of pressure from hospital. Body was already at funeral home, and was quoted an astronomical price that was simply out of our budget. Informed Heath and Vaughn that we had no choice but to go with the place that was exponentially cheaper, and asked how much we owe for services rendered (storage of the body etc., had been less than 24hr).
