Physicians at Orthopedic Specialists of Seattle (OSS) perform highly specialized procedures for orthopedic surgery and general orthopedic care for adults and children. If you have a question or problem that needs the attention of an orthopedic surgeon, please call us during office hours. Our surgeons are often in the middle of patient exams so please expect to speak to or leave a message with a nurse or staff member.
Tends to develop due to past injuries (ankle fracture or ankle instability) and is now commonly treated with Ankle Replacement vs the older Fusion Method. Generally happens in Spring & Summer due to return to Sport. Dr. Reed treats this with a surgery using a small incision and an accelerated post-op protocol to get you back to your activities.

The gal you call to schedule an appointment was super rude. If the doctors are anything like the support staff at Orthopedic Specialists, I'd recommend not going here. She'd ask me questions about my injuries, that only a doctor would know after looking at my MRI report or the images. Then she'd give me attitude because I couldn't diagnose my own injuries. I told her several times, I thought the purpose of my call was to set a consultation to find out what the MRI says is wrong and what next steps should be. I never write reviews, but this experience was like nothing I have ever been a part of

It can be quite hard for a lay-person to navigate the complexities of our modern healthcare system. I called to ask a question about how to best follow up for my daughter's knee pain. She has already seen a sports medicine doc, so I wondered whether or not we should stick with him or follow the ER after visit summary and switch to Dr. Kim-Orden. The receptionist was curt and unhelpful. I understand the answer that my daughter is not yet their patient so they can't dispense medical advice, but it was given to me in such an unhelpful way that I left feeling more confused than when I called.

Dr Phillip Downer is an extremely talented, experienced, and compassionate Ortho. I have been lucky enough to be a patient of Dr Downer's and I can say without hesitation that he is your guy for anything hip related. He has over 20 years of experience in treating everything from hip dysplasia, impingement (FAI), severe OA for hip replacements, etc and truly cares about the patient's preferences to ensure the best possible route to regaining their desired lifestyle.

Very poor service and they will recommend whatever surgery they can do on your for money, they do not care of your well being, they will disregard your feelings and pains.
So far $100 000 were paid to them and I am extremely disappointed waiting for a surgery to fix their mistakes
They do not give you any choice it is what they say or nothing.
Do not waste your time and those you love risking their well being in this hospital.

Dr. Kerr is a wonderful doctor! He has gone above and beyond to help me with a complicated L&I claim, he spent time reviewing my medical issues with examination and questions. He took so much time studying old records, wrote letters and was able to reopen my claim. Busy surgeons usually don’t take time to do that. He explained the surgery I needed and the care he would take for a good outcome.

One of the worst medical experiences I have ever had. The front desk was unprofessional, the nurses and Dr.s were friendly but incredibly amateur. I got no info, no help and they still keep sending me bills despite the fact that it was all paid by auto insurance. They keep making up new bills to send me 8 months after the bill was paid. What a joke of a business. I would have been better off not going there at all. They didn't help my broken ankle at all.

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Wagner's since he was with the Sports Medicine Clinic in Ballard, WA. He has always gone above and beyond what might be expected of a doctor. There is always eye contact, and he truly listens to us. We are living in Santa Fe, NM and Skagit Valley, WA, and we always come here for treatment when necessary. I have just had a stem cell procedure done by Dr. Wagner and his expert team, and I am already feeling the benefits. They sincerely tried to make me as comfortable as possible during this procedure. I would recommend him and the team without reservations

I saw Dr. Franklin for a complete ACL rupture. His Ballard clinic was outstanding from the front desk to his MA/PA, to the doctor himself. Clean, efficient, personable and I felt cared for and concern for my lifestyle, goals and my own concerns. I continued to see Dr. Franklin at his outpatient location in Wallingford. He has a calm and caring demeanor, focused and thorough. I was referred to Dr. Shapiro by my family physician due to a broken clavicle. From the very first appointment I was very impressed with OSS from the women at the front desk to the nurses and X-Ray technician, everyone very friendly and personable while being professional.
My second time with Dr. Shapiro was in the operating room just before he installed a titanium plate along my clavicle. The entire time from surgery on through the 3 months of healing, I felt little to no discomfort compared to my expectations from talks with other who had gone through similar surgery.
