Torticollis is tightening of a baby's neck muscles associated with the baby having a preference for turning or tilting the head one way more than the other. Plagiocephaly is when the baby's head is misshapen, most commonly with a flat spot on one side of the back of the head. Positioning within the womb is the most common cause, but the muscle tightening and head shape often worsen in the first few months of life.
