What draws visitors to Strasburg and its quaint hotel? Is it the view of Massanutten Mountain towering over the inn's backyard? Or is it the sight of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River skirting its foothills in a series of sparkling horseshoe bends? Maybe it's the town's slow pace. German settlers first knew it as Stony Lick, then Staufferstadt and finally Strasburg, when it was established in 1761.
Nestled at the foot of the beautiful Massanutten Mountain Range, near the entrance to Skyline Drive, the Hotel Strasburg welcomes guests and visitors who travel the Shenandoah Valley. Room was wonderful, meal last night was excellent! Continental breakfast was supposed too be 7-10, only thing out at 9 a.m. was dry cereal no milk, no juice, no coffee. Front desk unattended left key on desk with note to mail receipt. Not very business like in that aspect. Probably won't be back, certainly isn't the place that it's been in the past.

Hotel Strasburg's pub is very unique. It is small and old but has good food and drinks. Very interesting business with a lot of histoty and charm. If you get the chance go have dinner. The food is always top notch! Watch out for Ghost whom are known to roam the hotel.

Food left a bit to be desired. A bit warm in the dining room 🔥. They will accommodate a too warm complaint. Desk clerk was also our waitress. She did quite well. Little housekeeping is in order. Great antiques if you are seeking them.

Our first time here, went for Valentine's Day dinner. We were able to get a table without reservations. Without a wait. Nice atmosphere. The menu was limited due to the holiday and high-priced. The food was tasty but lukewarm. Server forgot our salads and appetizer didn't come out till dinners were ready. The service was excruciatingly slow. The cheesecake for desert was semi-frozen. We're not planning to return anytime soon.

My husband took me here for the Sunday brunch because he had good memories of this place, the place is just how he remembered it. The brunch was served at 11:30am just like how they said it would be. After our meal, we met the owner Anna, who is such a sweet lady. We made friends! She told us about the history of the hotel and how she wanted to preserve it. It was an interesting experience. We enjoyed very quiet morning meal here.
I will remember you Anna, my friend!😘

Truly a small boutique historic hotel. The staff is friendly but there are simply not enough of them, at least that's the case on this particular night. The rooms are decorated with antiques but are not overly extravagant. There is a bar with Pub food on-site. Apparently for quite a few years this was the only bar in town so a lot of locals still frequent it. Tonight was wings night and guests who ordered them said they were good.

Delicious luncheon in a historic parlor with soft music. Broccoli soup was amazing. Reuben was perfect. Excellent coffee. Very relaxed environment. Hard to believe that it was a hospital during the civil war. Period decorations were just right. I will definitely return!

A veritable treasure! Staff is the epitome of southern hospitality. The Victorian decor and authentic antiques are amazing. I'd give it a 10 if possible. If you're looking for a modern facility with loads of amenities and and updated rooms, keep looking. It was perfect in our opinion!!!

If you just went there to look around at all of the antiques, that would be interesting itself. However, the food is delicious!! And the people there are so friendly and helpful. This is a must see experience!! And I Love the pub....The Depot Lounge!!

Like many others who have written reviews, we really wanted this to be a great place, but it's not. It has such amazing potential and we would really like the owner to pay attention. There were four of us in two jacuzzi suites (supposedly the high-end rooms) and this is a compilation of issues.

PROS:
- Most of the staff is very friendly and accommodating. (Except the woman at the front desk who screamed at me because she was completely overwhelmed with the antiquated file card reservation system so she could not find our prepaid reservation. Thankfully we brought a copy.)

This is a beautiful hotel, inside and out. A gem of a place with wonderful antiques throughout the Lobby, Restaurant, Hallways, and the Suite I was in.

I would have loved to take the time to go exploring with the owner and/or whomever restored this 1903 building to its 1903 charm.

I highly recommend anyone who likes charming old building, antiques and great customer service to stay at this restaurant.

Went to their Thanksgiving Buffet. It was barely edible. Processed turkey, processed ham, terrible corn pudding, overcooked green beans, fake mashed potatoes, canned yams, overcooked salmon. All that for nearly $30 a plate. YUCK!

Clean hotel and very quaint. Although there were some issues in the room, we were told about them up front and when we mentioned some other minor issues they did write them down and attend to them. We try to do our part to make future patrons comfortable. The room was comfortable and big. I would stay here again if I'm in the area.

Old historic type hotel with lots of antique decor and character. Located in a cute historic little town. I booked this hotel online through our vacation club website. I love old historic hotels so I was really looking forward to our stay. I was also looking for a place like this to stay each year on our yearly trip between Texas and New Jersey.
When we arrived, the woman behind the desk (Megan) never greeted us. Instead she said in not such a friendly voice " you must be the Petterson's.". I politely said "no ma'am, we are the Olbrys'. She let out a sigh like she

We reserved our room with two full beds online. We arrived to find that we had a tiny room on the end with a single full bed that made enormous amounts of noise with every movement. The chair was broken; sitting in it I went straight to the floor butt first. The shower was grungy; everything was small and cramped. We talked to the front desk, but they were otherwise booked up, so we just dealt with it.
Went into the pub to grab a couple of glasses of wine. Here things got decidedly worse. We placed an order of stuffed potato wedges. When we took the first bite it was decidedly under cooked, but

I have driven past this hotel many times and admired the Victorian architecture, but had not ever been inside. On a recent business trip to Strasburg with a friend, we decided to try the hotel's restaurant. The decor is somewhat dated, but is interesting to see. The food was surprisingly good. I had salmon that was cooked just as I requested (the waitress asked how I wanted it) and it was excellent, as was the perfectly cooked broccoli that accompanied it. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are just right, not too large as is often the case.

We love this place. Stayed here for the third time in two years this past weekend. The first two times we stayed in the annex in a huge room with a jetted tub which was decorated in pinks and greens and flowers. So girlie and pretty. This time we stayed in a room in the main hotel. Deep maroon and also with a jetted tub. Everything is decorated very nicely if you like Victorian era antiques. Everything about the hotel is quaint and lovely. There is even an outdoor seating area both upstairs and downstairs. We always have dinner and drinks in the pub and are always VERY pleased. The food is amazing

No.
Just no.
We were in town for a wedding and rented a king size suite with jacuzzi for our visit. Upon arriving the hotel is very charming outside. In the lobby it is a bit 80's redecorated as a Victorian hotel, but still not without it's charm. The bar area, a complete delight, I would return to it. And then we went to our room. Room 420. It consists of a roomy parlor, bedroom, bathroom with jetted tub ( NOT a jacuzzi) and then another room off that with toilet sink and bidet.
I anted to like it, I really did. And it could be nice. BUT
This room at least needs some

I love supporting local businesses, so when we were coming back to VA to revisit some old stomping grounds, I suggested we give this place a try.

Well.

It is kitschy and charming decor wise, decorated in Victorian/Antebellum antiques and that whole romantic style. This place was remodeled in the 90s, but I don't think it has been updated since then. There are a lot of awards on the walls from previous decades, most of the newer ones are for the cuisine, and not the hotel itself.

I'm guessing from the positive reviews that it really depends on what room you get as to how your experience

Ok so it's not a run of the mill 5-star hotel but it is in my book. Charming, lovely, Victorian. We here for a return visit. Tonight we ate on the bar. What a lively local place. Everyone is welcomed. There was music till 8:30 in the bar. A great two piece band. Very nice. The food was very nice. My husband said the crab cakes were superb. My grove salad was great. Stray from the chains and savor lovely local color. Just lovely.

Oh and I can't forget the staff. Excellent! New person for us tonight: Lovely Lola. The bartender took a while coming to our table, but he was very busy.

I really did try to love this place. I do enjoy "Ole time", unique places that are hard to forget. The Strasburg was, indeed, one of those but did leave something to be desired. I think Robert E. Lee may have slept there and they have not done much to maintain it since. Kind of reminded me of your Great Aunt Tilley's house 20 years after the Great Uncle has passed. Still, if you are even a little bit adventurous and are tired of the chains I would highly recommend that you give the Ole Strasburg a try. You will not forget the experience

I concur with the other reviewers that liked

Walking into the warm and cozy hotel lobby from the big flakes of snow falling from the sky and being greeted by 3 friendly staff members makes for a memorable lunch! I've brought my boyfriend here for his birthday as well as out-of-town family dinners and they were so accommodating each time. The food is tasty and has German, traditional American, and Italian fares to choose from. I ventured here alone to enjoy a wonderful lunch of French Onion soup, house Chicken Pot Pie, and a Shirley Temple while sitting in a toasty bar watching the snow fall. They have a full bar and TVs to watch

I love taking my bride to places that will make her feel like she's a Very Important and Special person in my life. This was one of those places.

Wonderful atmosphere, service was a little slow but still good. The food was delicious and I must say, it's one of those places you only visit a couple times because it is EXPENSIVE.
