We strive to "Bee Conscious" as much as possible - using biodegradable packaging, planting hundreds of pollinating plants, sourcing local ingredients for what we can't, or don't grow ourselves from our local farm.

Services
Husband and wife team, Alexis and Patrick Strasser, are the power and energy behind Bee Conscious Baking Company. Patrick grows everything on their Goochland, Virginia farm, and Alexis bakes with the items he grows. They wanted to create something that people knew would be coming straight from their local farm.
From fresh florals, both edible and non-edible, pressed flowers, wild greens, and seasonal fruits, nature's beauty is what inspires my cakes. My cakes are freshly baked to order, composed of highest quality ingredients, and designed to your liking! Birthdays, Graduations, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, and all of the events in-between, make your celebration something to remember with a delicious cake!
When or If you see a swarm do not panic. They can be loud and intimidating, but will not harm you. The best thing to do is call an experienced bee keeper that doesn't mind collecting a fresh bee colony. Not just for our little bee friends, but for other pollinators out there such as beetles, butterflies, ants, lacewings, hummingbirds and so on.
We consciously farm beyond organic standards, allowing you to "bee conscious" easily. We take the deception from grocery stores away, bringing you nothing but fresh, nutrient dense, locally grown food! As a share member you can take pride in being a piece of our organic, sustainable, bio-diverse, "No till" farm.

Alexis made us the perfect wedding cake and cupcakes! Immediately after visiting her shop in the Dairy Market we knew we wanted her to make our wedding cake. We had the vanilla berry cake and vanilla berry, natural velvet, and citrus cupcakes! The cake and cupcakes were decorated beautifully with flowers from her farm and tasted amazing. Highly recommend!!

Alexis is an amazing baker - order from here and you will not regret it! We ordered 3 cakes and assorted pastries for a party and everything was absolutely delicious. Highlights include the cheddar scones and the vegan chocolate cake with raspberries - multiple guests said it was the best chocolate cake they ever had (vegan or otherwise). Really appreciate how they are able to accommodate nut allergies, as it's very hard to find a nut-free bakery

Wow! These cupcakes were the biggest hit at our daughter's birthday party! Absolutely delicious & to top it off, beautiful! The presentation was incredible and we will absolutely be regulars. While we picked up our cupcakes we grabbed a few other goodies--we don't know how to pick our favorite because they were all soooo good! Thank you to this local family for one of our new favorite spots in town!

Absolutely amazing! Bee Conscious provided the desserts for our wedding - I shamelessly ordered basically a dozen of everything in different flavors - and everyone was blown away. The wedding cake was irresistible, the donuts were fantastic, and by the end of the night the smores bars were more valuable than bitcoin. If you're reading this review, do yourself a favor and go to Bee Conscious it'll be the best decision you make today.

I had a red velvet cupcake the first time I stopped by their shop at the Dairy Market and fell in love so my husband ordered me a whole cake for my birthday and we ate the whole cake, which is a first for our family. This place is the real deal. Order and try everything they have on the menu. You will not regret it and the owners are the sweetest people you will ever meet. They were the only place that I craved through the end of my pregnancy. We visited their shop at least once a week for treats and still do.

The absolute best bakery, and I mean it. We’ve tried most of the places in Cville, we traveled around the country/world(before the pandemic hit) and Bee Conscious has been the most consistent and delicious place we’ve tried. Everything is top notch and fresh - my boyfriend has a sweet tooth, and so we buy a few things every time we visit. We ordered cakes from them, and the cakes exceeded all expectations. Try the Apple galette, the chocolate chip cookie and the cheddar scone!

Bee Conscious just opened a cute little space in the Dairy Market. I have been there 4 times since they opened a few weeks ago and each time was amazing. I bought Valentine’s Day goody bags for multiple friends & family. The ladies assisting me decorated the pastry boxes and bags and even took time to hand write little messages. Everyone loved their gift boxes and bags and raved about the delicious treats inside. This place is a must. Many gluten free options!

Holy moly. I’m a dessert fanatic and I have to say: WOAH. I’ve discovered my new favorite stop. Everything I ordered had great flavor, consistency and a fair price. There was quite a selection to choose from considering how small their stand is and I’m really looking forward to going back. Well done.

I cannot recommend Bee Conscious Baking Company enough! Their macaroons, scones, cookies, banana bread... honestly anything I’ve ever tried from them has been amazing. They put so much time, effort and love into their craft and it truly shows. They are incredibly friendly, punctual, hardworking and creative with very reasonable prices! If you ever need a cake for any occasion, they are not only stunning to look at, but taste amazing. 10/10 would recommend.
