Galliard Music
Since 2010, here at Galliard Music, we have been teaching our students with passion and motivation, guiding them to work towards performing their music. Being open to all ages and levels allows our younger students to look up to our older students for insight, and allows our older students to reflect on when they were just getting started and how far they've come.

At Galliard Music we really encourage performances of all kinds of music. To all of our students, we emphasize the importance of being themselves on stage. As they grow and mature they develop their own unique style and self-image. Some of our students start writing and composing their own music. The creative process is of utmost importance to the way we teach.

Once upon a time, kids roamed around the neighborhood, played in the streets, and in the basement or garage. Forming a band with their friends and writing music together was a very common outlet where kids could express themselves and create something of their own. Nowadays, kids meet, play, and learn in structured extra curricular activities.
Carlos was born in Los Angeles, CA, raised in the Midwest and currently is based in New York. Cabrera studied piano with Dr. Susan Cobb, and with Dr. Steven Widenhofer; He holds a B.A in music from Millikin University. Cabrera caters his lessons to the individual needs of his students. Lessons should help you develop skills, but most importantly it should be fun, and not feel like another school assignment.
How to prepare: All students should coordinate with their teacher to prepare a piece or song. Each performer will have a maximum of 5 minutes of playing time. A preparation and guidelines checklist will be provided for you via email once you have registered for the show. Time to sign in to Zoom: All performers will get a time slot, and will be expected to be signed into Zoom well before their time slot.

Brian is an excellent teacher. He has a post graduate degree in music education. He loves teaching. He is kind and encouraging with his students. He is patient, especially with me, when there are scheduling problems. My daughter has had Brian as a teacher since she was 9 years old. She started with piano, dabbled in voice, changed to keyboards, wrote music, and eventually became a bassist in a band, all under Brian's instruction over the years. Music is very important in our family. We are very grateful to him and are very sad that lessons will end, in a year, when my daughter goes away to

My child has been taking piano lessons with Galliard for almost a year. Before starting lessons, Brian took the time to understand my child's personality and selected a teacher who would be most suitable. He was very understanding when we had to stop lessons for a few months.

We restarted lessons with a new fantastic new teacher. Simona is classically trained, knowledgeable, energetic, and firm but kind. I wanted for my child to not only enjoy learning the piano, but have a strong foundation in music theory. In only a couple of months my child has finished the first book and has moved on

We have been using Galliard Music for many years for guitar and ukulele lessons for our two daughters. They are fantastic! The teachers are responsible, knowledgeable and work well with my children. The organization is easy to reach and very flexible.

Brian has been teaching my 5 year old piano for one year and we could not be happier. My son has developed a true love of the piano. It is still awesome to watch.

Brian has a magical way about him and my son looks forward to every lesson. He truly deserves the high praise he universally receives.

My son started taking taking piano lessons with Brian when he was just 4 1/2 years old and we just couldn't be happier. Brian is clearly a gifted teacher when it comes to young children and my son adores and looks up to him. One year later, I am so impressed with what my son has learned. He is so proud of himself after his weekly lesson and gets very excited to be rewarded with a sticker when he masters a new song. Brian is also amazing at communicating with me about everything from scheduling to questions about how a certain song should be played or how often my son should be practicing.

I started as a beginner, a few months later, I'm able to play on my own. Great lessons, at my own pace. Love it.

Brian is excellent with my 2 children, ages 14 and 11. They have both been taking lessons (guitar and piano) with him for the past 3 years. He takes his craft seriously, but also knows how to reach the youngsters and engage them to a point where they maintain interest. In the days of iPads and iPhones, that's more than I can say about myself! I have seen my adorable children grow from little annoying piano mashers into competent musicians, and how proud of them I am!

I have been taking lessons with Brian Lee for the past year and a half and its been great so far. I started as a complete beginner and now I can read through tabs and chords to play a bunch of my favorite songs. Brian is a great teacher with a laid back style, super patient and friendly, but he also knows when to push me when he sees I am just being lazy. I would recommend Brian to anyone who is looking for an awesome teacher that will help you learn how to play.
