Old Sawmill District is nothing short of a rebirth for 46 acres along the Clark Fork River, in the heart of Missoula, Montana. Once a booming sawmill complex, this property long known as the "mill site" has sat vacant since the early 1990s-unused and unsightly, but rich with history and potential. It's time to realize that potential.

Not only are they the brains behind every event that goes on, they have poured their heart into The Sawyer project and are so excited to be living and working here. Come say hi and get to know them!

The Sawyer offers the best communal student living in Missoula. Centrally located in the Old Sawmill District, you are close to everything. Management is very accommodating to their tenants and you are treated well, which can’t be said about the service of other local property groups.

The Sawyer is the best apartment building you could live at in Missoula as a student! The management/staff are all great and everyone is very welcoming, always having a smile on their face and always willing to help you with anything! It has every amenity that you need and everything is new! The location is central, you being able to go anywhere in a timely manner. The study rooms are amazing, with a great view as well! Thank you guys for everything! 😊

Sawyer Student Living is by far THE BEST living situation for students of University of Montana. The location couldn't be more perfect, out of the way, across from a beautiful park yet at the perfect intersection between Downtown, The Hip Strip and The university. The bike trail right behind the building can take you anywhere you need to go in Missoula. The building is new, modern and has the best, most caring and helpful staff you will find anywhere not just in Missoula (Neil and Catie). The apartment are sleek, large and comfortable. I can't tell you how nice having your own bathroom is, and

Catie helped me find my home here at the Sawyer during the Covid shutdown and I couldn’t travel to handle any of it in person. The entire staff is incredibly kind and they greet me by my name. The community here is tight knit and it’s also just a beautiful place to live. I have no complaints, only compliments.

I’ll give it a 1 star just because some of their staff were amazing. Signed a lease with the intention of joining 3 people my age already living there. Opened the door and you could barely walk through the apartment. Of course that’s not Sawyer’s fault, but when I asked to get my rent back for that month since I wouldn’t be moving in I was denied. Horrible. Some great staff though, just be careful!

This is a fantastic place to live! The managers and community assistants are nice, helpful and they know me by name. The amenities are hard to beat, with a number of communal spaces, including a small workout room and a lawn courtyard with a fireplace. The building is clean and modern. If you don’t mind roommates (but still want your own bathroom) it’s a good place to be. I’ve also found it to be reasonably priced for Missoula, and for what you get in amenities. I would recommend to anyone!

This place is great! The staff is so kind and work so hard to keep this place going. All the different rooms and study areas have been a great place to get my things done. I would highly recommend this place to other students or people looking for a place.

I am loving it here at The Sawyer! It has a beautiful building, friendly staff, a good community, nice apartments with a bathroom for each bedroom, a large courtyard with a patio and lawn for grilling food, lounging, or playing volleyball/Frisbee, good roommate matching, and a good location. The only thing I don't like about The Sawyer is the fact that it is close to the baseball stadium which can get loud and bright at night during games.
