I had to find a new provider since there are very few on Maui. I am so impressed by Dr. Barrett, Dr. Cook and all the office staff! They get back to me right away and are so kind when I have to fly over to Oahu from Maui. I wish I had found them years ago. They scheduled me for a Telehealth appointment, & the provider never showed up to my scheduled appointment date/time. I received reminder texts beforehand, & testing texts to make sure my connection worked, & confirmation text, & waited the entire appointment time in the "waiting room" with no provider logging on. I called the clinic twice while in the "waiting room" to ask about my appointment time. The first time I called 6 minutes into my appointment time & was told the provider would be online shortly. Dr. Cook is a wonderful doctor who makes you feel truly cared about. He is very knowledgeable and supportive, and takes the initiative to explain things in ways that are easy to understand. Dr. Cook is excellent in providing client-centered care in that he tailors treatment according to each individual's unique needs. Dr. Cook has taught me so much since becoming my doctor! He has a warm bedside manner and really listens to what's going on with you and genuinely cares! This place was excellent! The follow up after I left an after hours call was quick and precise, they had looked all the details over from my on-line paperwork and were ready to go. Gotta hand it to Deanna and Nikki, thank you for all the help. I had actually had my appointment rescheduled to an earlier time, I logged on during the normal time having forgot to log new time in my calendar. I cannot express enough how amazing Dr. Cook has been. I am doing the Ketamine infusions as well and Kayla was fabulous. She kept me grounded and calm. She is so kind and empathetic especially when things don’t feel real. Their paramedic is always professional, very friendly, and fast acting. The office is great. They respond to calls quickly and are always pleasant and helpful. Dr. Cook has done a great job with my care and I can almost always get an appointment with him by the next day. Dr. Cook practices traditional healthcare, as well as alternative medicine and will give you your options, and then support those options, doing what YOU choose. UPDATE: after finding a new Dr, they were told by Cook's office that my dose was 3x higher than it was. My new Dr matched and I got violently ill. DANGER WARNING! Jeopardize lives = NOT OK.
This review is 1yr+ overdue. They used to be "Alleviant of Honolulu" but it looks like they no longer support this location. Ketamine infusions is a godsend for many with chronic pain, so I finally got brave. I wasn't afraid of the procedure; but of the disappointment at another failed treatment. I didn't think I could handle more proof that I may never find effective pain relief.

I went in for a Ketamine therapy session. As soon as I walked in Deanna made me feel very comfortable and made my nervousness less with her professional demeanor. Lyle came in and set me up and was a good local Bruddah getting me set up. I have worked with kids after tragic dysfunctional homes and was a Guardian ad litem child abuse investigator. This type of work leaves a residue on you that carried on after I retired from the my state job. I have tried several different types of anti-depressants and talk-therapy but still I had severe depression that would not let up. I was a bit hesitant to try psychedelic Ketamine therapy due to the out-of-pocket cost but Dr. Cook was kind enough to offer me a payment plan and I am grateful for that because after 2 sessions I felt like a different person. I've been going here for several years, now. Dr. Cook and his staff are not only friendly, they genuinely care for their patients. They go above and beyond for their clients, and I truly don't know how I would have survived without them. When Dr. Cook isn't available, other members of his team work with me. I was supposed to have an appointment last week which I had mistaken for the wrong time. So I called back and reset an appointment up for today at 10am.
The doctor did not send me a link to get on our online session.
I called at 10:03 and 10:10 to see if I was still having an appointment the receptionist Nicky told me she would go see his schedule and call me back. I waited until 11:00am to call back, it took I think three tries to get ahold of the office. Then Nicky answered said she would have him call me back sometime today.

Please stay away from this clinic! While Nikki at reception was super helpful, Dr. Thomas Cook wasn’t at all. I came to this clinic for the IM ketamine infusions and went through with a consultation with Dr. Cook. It cost $300 and lasted 8 minutes! I felt like he barely glazed over my medical history and was likely only in it for the $.

Dr. Cook is the best! He's knowledgeable, non-judgemental & easy to talk to. Found him while visiting family in Hawaii and he's able to continue seeing me via Telehealth now that I'm back on the mainland. Prescriptions have been super fast & convenient as well. He can send my scripts to any pharmacy in the country, doesn't matter where I am. His staff is great too! They're always sweet/helpful & get back to me same day.

I had a total of 11 treatments from Feb
to Sept. I was "well" for the first time in decades. The pain of depression was gone.

in late Sept I learned he had discontinued

I wanted to further the review by I V. about the 15 min appointments. Although vocally over the phone 15 min appointments were confirmed by his front desk staff, I would say that my appointments have been from 15-25 min long. I only write 25 min because I am including my introductory appointment.
Anything under an hour is unacceptable. I take ADHD treatment seriously as I have my whole life. Dr. Cook's demeanor is one of naïveté.
A couple examples being: My first appointment was only 25 min long. The lights in his office were off as he was speaking to me. He referred to his divorced
