Hawaii Behavioral Health Service
I am committed to providing the best quality care with he spirit of Aloha to all our clients. It warms my hear to watch our clients grow. We are grateful to have been part of the HBH family for over 15 years. From answering some of our simpler questions to resolving bigger crises, HBH and the family support specialist have always been there to support us.

Having worked in many capacities with children, I find it most rewarding when you are one of the main sources of client's joy. You get to grow with them and learn what makes them so unique. Our blog is written for anyone interested in learning more about autism, mental health, effective treatment and scientific research.
Services
Our legacy evolves each and every day we are working together as a team in the lives of the children and families we serve. Together we nurture the potential and uniqueness of every child, with the belief that each child has a special gift to offer. The mission of Hawaii Behavioral Health is to improve the health and well being of children and families in Hawaii by demonstrating excellence in delivery of our services.
Hawaii Behavioral Health's branches on the four major islands offer Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services. Our ABA program serves children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and their families. Services can include one-to-one learning opportunities, as well as social skills groups. We offer a variety of services across different settings including school, community, clinic and home.
Behavior analysis focuses on the principles that explain how learning takes place. Some of those are positive reinforcement, teaching in small steps, prompting, and repeated practice. Through decades of research, the field of behavior analysis has developed many techniques for increasing useful behaviors and reducing those that may cause harm or interfere with learning.
ABI is a specialized intensive home and community-based service to provide treatment and support to youth with co-occurring mental health needs. Treatment focuses on youth (age 3-20 years old), who demonstrated a consistent pattern of borderline, mild, or moderate deficits in intellectual functioning.
Our Personal Habilitation (PAB) Workers provide one on one assistance to individuals of all ages with special needs in their homes and/or in the community. PAB workers help these individuals to acquire, retain and improve skills that allow them to be more self-sufficient, engage in opportunities which identify and expand personal interests, and build skills in self-advocacy.

HBH ABA services have helped our son learn important skills. When he first started ABA services he made sounds and said a few words. Within 6 months, he was using 3-4 word sentences! His listening skills also improved. He has learned how to share with other children, and is now able to sit at the table to do work. He enjoys group activities with his peers. He loves going to the HBH Clinic and LEAP Program, and seeing his BCBA, RBT, and all of his friends. It's a positive, fun, clean environment! He learns something new every session!

Our BCBA provides very valuable information and support

I have been working with Hawaii Behavioral Health for 13 years, and have been able to grow professionally. As a Licensed Behavior Analyst, I am able to provide meaningful, positive change in the lives of individuals and their families. As an LBA and Supervisor, my experience with HBH has allowed me to utilize my strengths and creativity, to improve my understanding of how to work effectively as a team, and as a Leader, to support individuals receiving ABA services and behavioral health services, and their families to learn valuable skills and behavior management strategies. My son has been receiving ABA services on Oahu for about one month now. I am very happy so far. Ronda (BCBA) has been terrific and my son really likes his RBT. I highly recommend Ronda as a BCBA!

My son also receives PAB services here and has just started.

As far as all the comments here and elsewhere about work hours, etc., it is standard across many agencies that provide skills training and ABA.
