Needed consul about a specific tax circumstance, found San Jose TS on yelp. I don't rely on yelp for looking up business food or non food related, the app does not work properly, learned that first hand.... I do my taxes and have for the last 5 years, thought to hire someone for the 2020 season....
Although I do feel that the person over the phone was professional and counsel me with do's and don'ts, I do think that they were not helpful and could of as least offered an in person appointment. This place is not helpful to me and will not use them for the 2020 tax season. No thanks

I gave all my information online and have been trying to reach them for the last week but am unable to get any response via voice call, sms messages or emails. I am stranded at such short notice and need to file by extension deadline of October 15th. Hoping they respond back ASAP and I will amend my review.

Gianni and his Son are the real deal! Gianni will greatly help you with taxes and will be straight up real with you. His son is the same way. They both have great personalities! Especially Gianni. I've never laughed out loud while getting my taxes done. I don't think anyone has. I usually file my taxes using TurboTax, but my situation this year was a little odd that I thought I'd go to a professional for assistance. Paul, not only did he help me hash out my taxes, he was informative about the what and the why. Additionally, I had issues with my 1095-A where I had to call up my health coverage for clarification, Paul was patient while I had to figure out some things on the spot before proceeding on. Aside from that, this is a mom & pop tax shop that I'd gladly support, I met both parents of Paul who help run the shop and they were a delight to meet. Great

Wow what can I say? Andrea has been doing my taxes for the past 4 or 5 years, there's a reason I keep going back! She's great at what she does, asks all the right questions (questions I don't even think about!) and is such a pleasant person to work with.
I moved to Oakland over a year ago and she easily accommodated me, so I didn't have to drive to SJ to drop off or pick up my taxes documents. She sets expectations so I know to expect. I honestly do not see myself going to anyone else to do my taxes. Thanks, Andrea!

A tale of two tax returns...it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
Short version: Service was great for 2015 tax year, things got weird in 2016.
Longer version: In early 2016 I was looking for a new tax preparer to do my 2015 year taxes and I saw that these guys had good reviews on Yelp. They were inexpensive, easy to work with and things went fine, they even helped me prepare for tax year 2016. Though I did find it a bit odd that they were a cash-only operation and their location was kind of dodgy but the price was good and they did good work for me that year.
Fast forward to

After hearing that the Covered California was pretty much going to wash out any form of refund I was ready to just give up. I already came into San Jose Tax thinking I would owe a couple thousand but Andrea asked me several questions and tried to find ways to save me from drowning in back taxes.
