Forensic & Clinical Psychiatry
Our office is dedicated to providing easily-accessible forensic and clinical mental health services for all with the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct. Richard Adler, MD, is a Seattle-based Board-certified Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Dr. Adler graduated from an Adult Psychiatry Residency, followed by a Child Psychiatry Fellowship, both of which were completed at Harvard Medical School.

He was the Medical Director of Mental Health for two counties in rural Maryland as a member of the National Health Service Corps. He remained in that area for a total of eight years; the latter four years were spent in inpatient and outpatient private practice. He has practiced in Seattle, Washington since 1996.
Services
Dr. Adler graduated from an Adult Psychiatry Residency, followed by a Child Psychiatry Fellowship, both of which were completed at Harvard Medical School. Zara is our Practice Director who came to us from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the fall of 2019. Zara road-tripped from Pittsburgh to Seattle in August of 2019 with her loveable cats. Zara graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Human Services and a minor in English.
Consultation to attorneys (review of medical records, assistance in deposing experts, selection/"vetting" of experts, referrals for mental health services for legal clients, preparation of clients for the rigors of legal proceedings, and mental health aspects of case strategy).

Psychiatric evaluation for Personal Injury cases, Fitness for Duty, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), Disability, IDEA/IEEs and Special Education issues (particularly consultation to School Districts).Criminal issues such as Competency to Stand Trial, Diminished Capacity, Insanity Defenses and Mitigation/Sentencing.
Contact for forensic cases is primarily initiated by the attorney representing the interested party. Procedure dictates that our office acquire basic case details, such as the type of case (civil or criminal, and subcategory), the service requested, referral information, and any associated case deadlines.
Richard Adler, MD, is a Seattle-based Board-certified Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. After completing an adult psychiatry residency at Harvard Medical School/McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA, he completed a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.
