It was decided that Avon, NY needed a top quality, non-cooperative, nondenominational preschool located in the heart of the community. Thus, Circle Nursery School was formed. Now, after more than 40 years of operation, Circle Nursery School continues to emphasize the importance of top quality education for children aged three to five.
The preschool operates through a board of community members, parents and churchgoers who meet on a monthly basis to provide guidance and take care of the operations of our school. At CNS, we believe that the quality of the staff is the most important element of a good preschool education. Mrs. Amanda Driscoll is the Circle Nursery School Teacher/Director. Amanda grew up in Avon, but spent 10 years living in Plano, Texas. She taught special education in elementary school for several years and most recently was a lead preschool teacher for both three and four year olds.
Board terms are three years and members consist of Zion Episcopal Church members and Circle Nursery School parents and prospective parents. Policies, procedures, and the general operation of the school are reviewed and discussed at each meeting. All members have a voice in our continuing effort to provide a top quality education for our students.
Our Second Step lessons are teaching preschool students how to be better friends and great listeners! Two Day Class (Tuesdays/Thursdays) -- Our 3-4 year olds spend their time socializing, learning how to work in a classroom and becoming familiar with letters, numbers, colors and shapes. Our teachers focus on learning through play, hands-on learning, and small-group, large-group and individual arrangements.
For the safety of the children, please park only on the school side of the building, so that children do not need to cross the street. If someone other than a parent or regular caregiver is to pick up a child, the staff must have a written note, giving permission to that person. Circle Nursery School requires a health record for each child enrolled in its program.

This week is my daughter's last week at Circle Nursery School and she told me that she is sad to leave (and so am I). Ms. Amanda and Ms. Linda have created an extraordinary environment for these kids. My daughter is always excited to go to school and she's excited to learn. I cannot say enough great things about this school and these teachers. I'll forever be grateful that they gave my daughter such a positive start in her education.
