We take pride in creating a fun, educational, and empowering environment. At our gym here in Altamonte Springs, you don't need a ton of fancy equipment and an oversized facility to learn. You simply need an open mind, a good attitude, and yourself. Our philosophy at Fabin Rosa Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is to help you become a better version of yourself through the self-discipline and physical training of martial arts.
Born in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, Fabin grew up with a love for surfing and Jiu-Jitsu. His BJJ career started under the instruction of 3rd Degree Black Belt Gustavo "Guga" Machado (Gracie Barra). Professor Machado eventually relocated to the United States to open his new academy and Fabin came under the tutelage of renowned Gracie Barra instructor Roberto "Roleta" Magalhaes.
Most real self-defense situations will end up on the ground. Why? Because in real scenarios there is one factor that is almost always guaranteed - the clinch (when one person grabs another). Once the inevitable clinch happens it is a matter of time before someone loses their footing and falls. At that moment, the scenario becomes a ground fight.

I trained in some BJJ while in the Army and went to several academy’s. This gym was the best one I went to for training. Perfect mix of warm up, instructional drilling, and rolling. Very technically oriented and safety conscious. Very friendly and welcoming no need to be nervous starting at this gym.

Best Martial Arts academy in Altamonte Springs and surrounding areas. My family and I were immediately welcomed in and felt comfortable from day one. The vibe is incredible and the training is even better. The professors and students all compete and support each other at all of the top level competitions and tournaments. You won’t find a place around here that have professors and students alike with the experience and knowledge that they share here.

FRBJJ is the best BJJ in Central Florida. The owner and instructors clearly make having a fun in an open, honest, friendly and accepting atmosphere their priority. You'll instantly have a new group of friends when you join. The school is well maintained, nicely designed and always spotlessly clean. Ive been several times. Most recently my 15 year old nephew trained with instructor Uriel Ortiz. Uriel truly has a gift for teaching BJJ, especially young or less experienced people. Check out any of the FRBJJ locations, especially the Altamonte academy. You absolutely will be glad you did.

Going into a gym for the first time with no martial arts experience can be intimidating. Here at FR they treat you like family right away! Instructors are absolutely fantastic and full of energy and passion. And all the higher belts in the class have been so nice and helpful, no big egos here. Highly recommend!

I have been attending Fabin Rosa's school in Orlando for a little over a year and a half. When Fabin opened a school in Altamonte I decided to give go and check it out because it's closer to my apartment. JD Lopez is the best. He's knowledgeable, personable, and patient. The other students made me feel extremely welcome too. If you are looking to learn self defense, or if you want the best workout of your life, this is it.
