Cogito ergo sum - I think, therefore I am. Cogito Jiu-Jitsu is a martial arts school focused on providing a friendly training environment with classes for beginners as well as seasoned martial arts practitioners. The students in our school come in with a willingness to learn, not just strength and athleticism.
Dillon began his martial arts journey where many others do, Tae Kwon Do as a child. After a short hiatus, in 2006 he began training in Genbukan Ninpo Taijutsu (a form of Japanese Jiujutsu) and Judo in Virginia and Maryland. Since then he has competed in BJJ, Muay Thai, and MMA. He was promoted to a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by Paul Rodriguez in 2016.
We offer both Gi (uniformed) and No-Gi jiu-jitsu classes, as well as kids classes (5-12). Students of all levels are welcome, as the instructors and students are all committed to creating an environment that is welcoming, family friendly, supportive to beginners, and challenging for more experienced martial artists.
First and foremost, please know that you can ask any of the instructors or students any questions you have when you are here. Cogito Jiu-Jitsu is a family and we want you to feel welcome. However, before your first class, you might have some questions (we all did before our first class), so here are some FAQs to help you out.

Cogito is a great place to train with great instructors, to welcoming friendly faces. Open mat on sundays is always packed and you competition style rounds, but they have multiple mat sections for those who are looking to fine tune technique. I highly recommend anyone to check out this gym. A hidden gem for sure!
