Unlike the more adversarial contested divorce process which begins when one party files a Complaint against the other, an uncontested divorce is a joint process where the parties work together to reach an agreement as to the terms of their separation.
In an uncontested divorce, the parties must be in complete agreement regarding all issues surrounding the divorce, such as child custody, child support, alimony, property division, division of debt, health insurance, life/disability insurance and tax consequences. The specific terms of the divorce must be put into a formal written document called a Separation Agreement.

Professionals and business owners often face complex legal challenges in divorce proceedings, particularly when it comes to property division and asset valuation. For doctors, dentists, attorneys, accountants and other professionals - and their spouses - protecting high-value assets and preserving the standard of living established during the marriage are often leading priorities.

I highly recommend John Tangusso. I hired John for a divorce matter a few years ago and hired him again recently for a post-divorce matter. Mr Tangusso has always handled all my cases very efficiently, with a great professionalism. He is very reliable, has always been honest, transparent, very fair and defending me efficiently with positive and fair outcome. His calm demeanor and support helped in those moments of uncertainty and emotional roller coaster; I will hire him again and again with great trust and respect !

I have known John for almost 10 years. He came to my aid and provided expert legal advice and counsel when I needed it most. Divorce with minor children came with it all sorts of winding roads and unexpected events. Through it all, John showed compassion and empathy at a time where I doubted so much about life. He put everything in perspective, provided realistic expectations and remains a friend to this day. In addition, he has a quick wit and a great sense of humor--necessary qualities in a family law and divorce attorney. I highly recommend John to anyone in need of unyielding support and guidance

John Tangusso is an amazing advocate and represented me in a custody case. He is very informative and knows the laws well and helped me understand more as this was all new to me. He remained calm and level headed and helped me to stay calm during an emotional time. He is super professional and had all of ducks in a row and was ahead of the game. Recently, I had to gather paperwork for my sons passport, but it was Massachusetts. It would have been a nightmare to try to do that myself long distance as I live in NY now. Well, he offered to go and get the papers and make that happen! His kindness and
