Our son started at Almost Home just a few months ago and he is already like one of the family. I really appreciate their atmosphere. It has a family feel while still being professional, and other teachers, outside of the room that he is in, know him and interact with him.

Since 1991, area parents have counted on Almost Home Child Care to look after their children while they are at work. Today, we're proud to serve the two convenient locations in Ridgefield and Wallingford. Almost Home Child Care was founded by Jennifer and Scott Soodek. In 2013, they sold the business to Shanti and Sairam Simhadri, the parents of two wonderful daughters.
Bunny Swift Kolf began her career with Almost Home Child Care in 1992 as a head teacher in the Toddler Twos. When we formed the School Age Program, she was promoted as the director. In that role, she developed the kindergarten curriculum and was the program's very first teacher. When we expanded to our 100 Danbury Road location, she was promoted as the director for that location.

As parents we always look for a nice and reliable place for our children. Trust is very important and Almost Home has given us that trust throughout this time our little girl was there. Our little girl's social skills have definitely improved tremendously from the first month, and we are sure this is partly due to the work done by the staff working at the center. My husband and I felt that our daughter was in a pleasant environment during all this time. We recommend Almost Home to any parent looking for a reliable place where their child can receive proper care.

As a first time mom, I was nervous about the thought of leaving my baby anywhere. Almost Home was recommended to me by family and I can say that I don't regret the decision I made to enroll my infant here! My baby has such a big smile on his face when I drop him off, and he's still so happy when I pick him up. I would recommend this daycare to anyone.

This is a great place to send kids to this daycare and pre-school.My five years old daughter loves to go this school. She is been there from 3 years old.The staff is Excellent and amazing .Hours are great and they are very flexible. They take care of the kids very good.It is very spacious with bright lighting for the kids to move and play around and they maintain very clean and hygiene environment.Thank you so much for taking care of my kid in this awesome center.

We have been sending our children to Almost Home for over 6 years since they were both infants. Our kids absolutely love it here and have very strong bonds with the staff at Almost Home. Our Daughter who is now in grade school requests to come back during school breaks and for some of the summer break because she likes it so much. The center provides a ton of different activities for the kids and we feel that our children have benefited from their time here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to any family looking for childcare. I brought my 2 kids here and at first thought it was the best daycare center ever until I received numerous calls saying I had to bring my children home and the staff were very unpleasant. They did not interact or care to speak with me. The last day I allowed my children in the center they did not change my infants diaper and when I picked him up his pants were SOAKING wet so badly you could tell he wasn't changed for hours. I really hoped this center would work out because they had so many great activities for the children, however, the staff lacks the respect and education in caring for the children

We have had our daughter here for over 3 years. Our previous daycare wasn’t well managed, didn’t solve issues, and eventually shut down. Almost Home was a great change for us. Although, it wasn’t always perfect, the staff were quick to remedy situations early on, and the owner has always been very receptive. The staff is always warm and friendly,. I’ve dropped off and picked up my daughter at various times of the day, and everything seems to be decently planned and the staff engaged. My 15 month old has been coming here since she was 12 weeks old and it is fantastic! I love the fact that almost home has the “home feel” with the security of a bigger daycare. My child is always happy when I pick her up and is learning so many things at a rapid rate. Everyone in this daycare feels like a family, and I am so glad we found out about this place!!

Almost Home is fabulous! The staff is amazing so sweet and knowledgeable. When I drop off my darling in the morning I feel like I have left her with a friend or relative. When I pick up my daughter at the end of the day, the staff gives me a report of everything they did that day. I truly appreciate the care and attention my little sweetie receives. I highly recommend Almost Home to anyone looking for childcare.
