Just to update my previous review of Conanicut Marine services. My boat is still there (this is november 2021) and has been there since March with none of my prioritized items(2) repaired. In fact it turns out that they did not understand my ( professional marine) surveyors report and asked me to bring in another surveyor to tell them how to make the repairs. Even that was not sufficient and now the work (apparently-they don't communicate) has been sent out because of lack of in house expertise. Last time i heard this business was for sale . I'm not surprised . Avoid trying to have

8/14/16 - 43' trawler, 2 nights on a mooring = $126. We enjoy Conanicut Marina several times a season. PROS: We have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. There is a great dinghy dock right next to http://www.spinnakerscafe.com for ice cream and Chopmist Charlie's restaurant for dinner. Great grass areas next to dinghy dock for walking your pets. Beautiful views of Newport Pell Bridge. You can call rather than be forced to use the online mooring reservation system. CONS: Parking is limited. Newport Ferry & launch boats move @ wake speed through the mooring field.

This place is the best. Coming from Newport, it would seem strange to travel to Jamestown for marine supplies, when Aquidneck Island has West Marine and numerous other independent marine supply stores.
However these folks have plenty of things most other stores don't, and what they don't have, they will track down like a pack of bloodhounds. I needed a really obscure part for a Yanmar fuel/water separator. I ended up giving them the wrong part number. This was not a big-ticket item, mind you. By the time it was over, I got three phone calls: one to tell me the part number was

A store located only a short walk from the center of town. It has the usual collection of boating stuff like ropes, hooks, charts and maps. However it also has much more.
Most of the store is actually filled with clothes. Again the usual boating shoes and coats but lots of neat t-shirts, sweat shirts and hats. Surprising the prices are actually reasonable.
The store also has a nice selection of books about the history of Jamestown and the surrounding area. The people working there were extremely friendly and took the time to answer some dumb questions I had. A nice place for not only boating
