Let me preface this with I have never left a review on a hotel before but we had the worst experience and warn anyone who thinks about staying at Pier 4. They have the rudest staff who when you call gives you misinformation then berates you about it (more than once) and are confrontational. That's just the front desk. The room was dirty and disgusting with dirt and cobwebs everywhere, dirt under all the furniture and old clothing and toys that was left under the sofas because obviously it's never cleaned. The pull out bed isn't even a bed with 5 springs missing from it and the

Nice hotel sitting next to Crab trap at ninth St. Bridge entrance to Ocean City Nj. Pool facing bay great views plenty of lounge chairs by pool, the negative people think it's a cruise ship and throw towels on them and never come back. Can walk over to Crabbie Jack's for a cocktail. Room nice clean could use cabinet under sink in bathroom to store toiletries

I did not have the pleasure in staying here due to the initial contact on the phone. I was calling to block out hotel rooms for my wedding. I explained the dates to the woman on the phone. She asked where my ceremony and reception were, how far from the hotel, as well as if I had transportation planned. My wedding is on a Saturday. I just needed a hotel room for Friday night to avoid shore traffic in the morning and give the bridal party an area to get ready. The woman on the phone told me it was not a good idea of mine to have people drinking and driving all the way to the hotel after the wedding

Horrible experience .. we drove for many hours and we where tired . Try getting a room and they told us they only had one room left and we took it .. price was moderate . We took the room . Once we got to the place . They have a room to our family member that called after us and they gave them our room and we got a different room .( totally different room from the one they told us on the phone ) so my friend got a room after they told us they only had one ... no problem thats fine we was tired and all we wanted was to sleep ..... but what got me angry was that once we open our room door we found

Room was very clean and well maintained, very comfortable. Beds were good, not the most comfortable, but good. Did really like the pillows, though! The hotel room was clean and quiet, as well as an overall feel. Pool was very clean, not heated, but felt good. Would definitely stay here again. Loved being close to Ocean City without the noise. Crabby Jack's is great being right there as well for drinks and food.

I called to make a reservation for a weekend in July. The lady who answered was short with me when I joked about possibly pushing the wrong number in the menu to make a reservation. Later in the call, her voice got very low. I commented that I could not hear her. She said, "I'm on landline. If you're on a cell, it's not me." At that point I ended the call.

Three stars for location. Staff was cold. Except on check out. She was lovely. Rooms were updated. Beds are terrible.... three nights and I can't move. Sheets/towels are below average too. Weird set up for the "balcony". You cannot close the door from the outside. I guess to deter smoking??? But on a beautiful night, you can't sit outside without bugs flying into you room because of the outside lights.... You can walk to amazing restaurants. Location was the highlight. For the money, consider a hotel with better bedding. It was beyond bad and cheap...

The building is relatively updated and we liked that each room has a private patio.
Sadly, the beds and pillows and blankets were TERRIBLE! Felt like the pillows were stuffed with wood chips and a bag of air. The bedding also smelled like straight bleach.
I hope they can take this feedback and update the most important part of a hotel, the bed!

I must admit that after reading some of the yelp reviews I wasn't sure what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised. We were there for a wedding and the entire hotel staff was nice and accommodating. The room was clean and the view ( bay side ) was terrific. The decor is a little dated and the public areas a little dingy but I would definitely go back!

I grew up in Somers Point and this was my first time staying in Pier 4. The room was OK - nothing special, the bathroom looked tired. A lot of noise at night coming from the outdoor bar/waiting area of the seafood restaurant next door. What really upset me the most was the $250.00 "Internet Charge" on my bill. Evidently I was charged this because I used Booking.com. I was never told this ahead of time or saw this in any of the paperwork I received. The desk clerk was very snooty about it. i think I will bypass this place the next time I stay.

We've been coming here for about 10 years. But it's been obvious that it's been on the decline over the years. This last visit this past summer was the turning point of us never going back. I called to make a rez and asked for a higher floor. When we arrived we were told that wasn't possible and were put on the 1rst floor. I understood, but at the same time we called early to ask for the floor but were told they don't give preferences but then got there before check in and all top floor rooms were taken...doesn't make sense. No problem, moving on. Then we walked into

Horrible customer service! Booked a room and checked out within an hour. All of the rooms were non smoking but the room I chose had a balcony so I assumed I could smoke on that since it is outside. We got up to our room and there was a sign that said that smoking was not allowed on the balcony either. I did a lot of research before booking the room and the website that I used did not list it as a smoke free hotel. If it was listed at that I would never have booked it. I spoke to Heather at the front desk to see if anything could be done about getting part of the room charge back and she seemed

I just have to say that I've never written a complaint about a hotel and a I travel often. My wife and I stayed here for a wedding and the Front Desk people were the rudest I've ever come across in the hospitality industry. The tried to charge us a bogus $200 fee for smoking, based on a guess that they were "told" that the person smoking might have entered my room and therefore I was responsible. They argued with me in the lobby while 15 people were waiting to check out. To make things worse, I called and left a message for the owner to call and HE didn't have the courtesy

We stayed here before and it was a pleasant experience but this year we were highly disappointed. There were adults sitting in the baby pool smoking cigarettes and we had ask someone to say something to them. Secondly, we were told to park across the street with two infants and walk to the hotel with our luggage because they can't enforce parking and everyone parks there to go to the Crab Trap. We requested new towels and after over an hour we left for dinner and came back to find the clean towels sitting on the disgusting floor in front of our door in the hallway. Finally, our room smelled

My family and I have really enjoyed coming here over the past 3 years. It's very clean. No smoking is what I really enjoy. Although the past 2 times I've stayed, my neighbors would smoke on the balcony and we could smell the smoke come through our ac vent. The pool and Crabby Jack's right on the bay is so enjoyable. The walls are rather thin so you can hear your neighbors. I am one who sleeps in complete silence so it may not bother others as it does me. The receptionist is very nice. People seem to have been coming here for years and the staff recognizes you from previous stays

My niece and I have been coming here for a girlfriend weekend for the past three summers now. Recently I had to stay because of surgery my mother was having. Dawn Evangel, the front desk office manager was so kind and considerate of my needs; giving me a 10 percent discount card for a nearby restaurant, phone numbers I needed, and even a recipe for an asparagus concoction designed to kill cancer cells. The hotel is undergoing considerable renovations, and I can't wait to get back in a month with my nice to just enjoy the space. PS. They even thought to put a nightlight in the bathroom and

This review is not based on the hotel accommodations per se, but rather on a customer service experience which, as a first impression did NOTHING to make me think this hotel was worthy of my business. My family and I had dinner at the Crab Trap next door last night (12/23/13) and afterwards my father wanted to stop at the hotel - he's from out of state - to get pricing on rooms. The young woman working the front desk sometime between 8 & 10pm - she was also working the switchboard - was helpful, only reluctantly...she treated his inquiry as more an intrusion instead of an opportunity for
