If you are searching medical information please visit my medical resources page. I am also compiling a review of recommended pain products to help as a resource for over-the-counter products and devices. I have a clinic open to new patients at the Queens Pain and Spine Center, with locations at both the Punchbowl and West Oahu locations.
Please call 691-5390 for information. I was born on Kauai, and attended Punahou. Following undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, my training took me to the University of Michigan for my medical degree and a Masters in clinical research, then to Stanford University for my anesthesiology residency and pain fellowship training.

Services
Our usual process is to have your primary care doctor, or relevant specialist, make a referral, so we can ensure we have the necssary background information. I have locations at both Punchbowl as well as Queens West in Ewa. The intellectual and emotional satisfaction of figuring out the best solution for you is more important to me than maximizing revenue.
For your convenience, I have links to purchase them on Amazon. Using the link may generate a small commission through the Amazon affiliate program, which is used to offset the maintenance costs of this site. Try a SOBAKAWA (buckwheat) pillow. It's like a beanbag, so not soft or squishy. Regular pillows usually are too big, lifting your head too much, or too flat, so your neck isn't supported.
Your bones/joints such as "arthritis" of joints of your spine, called "facet joints"All three are inter-related, and often one type of pain may cause another. Based on the physical exam, imaging studies, and targeted injections, we can seek to find out which of these compontents may be playing the largest role in your pain, so we can find out what the best treatment package is for you.
Pain is complex. It involves your nervous system-your nerves, spinal cord, and brain-but it also involves the subjective, emotional experience of pain. Acute pain, such as right after a surgery or a new problem such as a newly herniated disc, generally gets better on its own with time. Chronic pain-generally, pain lasting for more than 3 months-is especially complex and requires a comprehensive approach.
I have a particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of nerve-related pain. This pain may feel like a tingling, electric sensation, often affecting a fairly specific area of your body. If you think of your nerves as electric wires, that wire can be damaged in a specific location-imagine some exposed wires in your wall sparking off where the insulation is frayed.

I have been seeing Dr. Esaki for lower back pain now for over 6 months. He is very proactive in his his treatment plan, very efficient and is never hurried or rushing to get to the next patient. Never have I had to wait over 5 minutes in the waiting room to see him. He has come highly recommend by me, as he has figured out where my back pain has originated and has provided an excellent treatment plan.
