Electrodiagnostic testing, also known as EMG or EMG/NCV testing is an important tool in evaluating pain, tingling, numbness, weakness, loss of coordination, and basically any complaint that involves the nerves and/or muscles.
While tests such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, bone scans, and the like give important information about how structures in our bodies appear, there are times when the visual findings on CT, MRI, etc. do not explain the patient's symptoms and exam findings well enough.Sometimes the findings are treated, with or without surgery, yet the symptoms continue or spread.

Employers, our workers' compensation group is available to provide medical opinions, treatment, and support for employee work injuries at any of our eight clinic locations across the Mid-South region. With two MRI locations and two surgery centers in Shelby County and DeSoto County, as well as physical and occupational therapy, we offer complete orthopedic care to help get patients back to what matters.
As part of the OrthoSouth and Baptist Memorial Health Care joint Institute for Orthopedic Excellence, OrthoSouth's team of hospitalists practice on-site at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis and Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. These orthopedic hospitalists provide timely, coordinated care to patients admitted to one of these Baptist hospitals through the Emergency Department.

I have had the best experience with OrthoSouth in Southaven. I was able to make an appointment through their system (even as a new patient) very quickly and easily. They were very helpful from the x-rays to the office staff. They answered questions about my bill, the Ortho (Dr. Hester) was great, and the office is clean!

I’ve been seeing Dr Sam Schroerlucke for roughly 9 months. He is stellar at what he does! My first back surgery didn’t work but I’ve had Incredible results from my 2nd surgery. My only issue is getting meds to the pharmacy when they say they will be there. It’s happened twice now (very first appointment which was on a Friday so I went the whole weekend in agony) and today. Only one of the 2 meds discussed in today’s appointment was sent to the pharmacy. I’m one month out of back surgery with rods and screws and I’m definitely doing much better but there is still some surgical pain

I will not return to Ortho South for anything. I was seen April 8th as a walk-in, due to me falling on my left wrist the day before. I had the 1st set of X-rays taken that day, that supposedly did not show a broken bone or fracture. Was told to start physical therapy, which I did. Which seems to only aggravate the pain that I was experiencing. But I did it anyway, trusting that the Dr knew what was best. So, long story short. It's 8 weeks later. I still have pain in my wrist. And they just found out today June 1st that I indeed had a crack in my wrist that is healing on its on. The current Dr I

I'll be as clear as I can. This place might feel rushed to some people. To me, I can only equate this place to Chic-Fil-A...RUTHLESSLY efficient!!! Parking lot was packed...not sure why. Temperature checkers at the door were direct and to the point. Elevator ride to the second floor, walk to the front desk to check in. They had my paperwork pre-printed. All I had to do was verify and sign! My appointment was 9:40 AM. At 9:39 and 59 seconds, name called, 15 second walk to a curtain triage area. 10 second walk to a private room. 12 seconds in the room, off to the X-ray room with a happy professional

I have always been treated well by the nurses and doctors. I have had both thumb joints replaced and a few knee and ankle and shoulder injuries over the years. Every visit was quick, accurate and properly attended to over the years. The nurses have always communicated well, assessed my injury and kept me informed. If any follow up calls were necessary, they were returned promptly.

My experiences with OrthoSouth were outstanding. My mother's doctors (Dr. Giel and Dr. Williams) are phenomenal orthopedic surgeons and are skilled, empathetic, vigilant and nurturing. Dr. Giel repaired a hip fraction on my 97 mother who was able to regain her mobility. At 99 my mother broke her other hip and Dr. Williams performed an exceptional emergency surgery on my frail mother. She was able to stand within 48 hours. Exceptional orthopedic office.

My husband and my mother both see Dr. Krahn. He is an awesome doctor. He listens and provided the best treatment for your condition. My mother has had two knee replacement at different times and has done wonderful at age 80. My husband gets the gel injections for both knees and gets immediate relief. We highly recommend Dr. Krahn!
