Attic insulation recommended in the NE region is R30 (min.), or 8 inch height for blown-in cellulose as in this case. Interior wall crack outward from door corner is another indication of differential settlement. Black mold on roof rafters caused by moisture and a lack of attic ventilation. This mold can be toxic and should be addressed.

I've worked in the real estate development industry for the last 30 years and needed a home inspector who would not only do a good job, but who would allow me to do the inspection with him so I could see what he saw & ask my own questions, without getting an attitude. Russ was absolutely amazing! Not only was he incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and patient, but he truly cared about the inspection he was doing for me. The house in question was built in 1925, but "completely renovated" in 2016, so it took a keen eye to be able to look past the new finishes and see the underlying issues in a house

Buying a home is exciting but also a very important and expensive investment. We hired Russell Classi to help us feel sure of the home we wanted to purchase.
