Lies! This is by far one of the worse schools I've ever been to! Take it from a sequoia senior! They are having rat problems again! They are understaffed half of the time! They take aides away from students to help other teachers! Never send your kids here! I will never recommend this school to anyone! I wish I had a chance to transfer schools! Unfortunately there is no point in transferring now when I graduate June 2019 (about three months to go)! The food is so gross and sometimes stale where I've actually gotten sick from getting lunch at school! And if you get breakfast or brunch

It's an ok school but considering a teachers aid was sleeping with an underage student, I would not allow my kids to attend.

I'm going to echo the first review regarding great teaching staff and add the MOST AMAZING special needs case manager...horrid admin. Yes, they do take sides and we've be straight up, bold faced lied to and my autistic son has paid the price. He's been left with the impression that Sequoia "is corrupt" and sadly, we cannot dispute this information. Sincerely hoping for a better year as the VP in charge of the class of 2020 is now gone....worst administrator ever!

As a Biology major, I liked seeing all the snakes in campus. Really if you're into snakes I would recommend 5 stars. If you hate snakes then go to woodside or MA which is one of the top 33 schools in California. Sequoia either has those teachers that actually care about your success, or those teachers that don't teach anything and only give out packets. But what can you expect from a public school full of snakes am I right? Anyways would I want my children to go to this school? No. Do I regret not going to woodside? Yes. Now don't take my word for it and use the "straw man"

Such a great High School. I graduated with the International Baccalaureate diploma and though the program was rigorous, it helped me prepare for college. Definitely recommend this high school!

Great school, caring teachers, friendly, down to earth students and families, IB program - intense but doable and free!
Sequoia calls them-self a "Place of friends", which I think is the perfect description for this place. My daughter is a Junior at SHS and LOVES her school. This is incredible rare these days - especially for a teenager. It's a big school and you should think your child is one out of 2000, but it's not. Teachers and counselors in general are incredible helpful and caring. They know there students and they are always available for students and parents. I think

For those of you considering high schools in or near Redwood City, Sequoia High School has a lot to offer. The general ed, AP, and IB courses are all great. The staff and faculty are very open to talking with parents and always available to the students. The athletic department is absolutely wonderful, offering a wide range of sports, many with a no-cut policy. The drama department puts on fabulous plays and musicals. The dance, talent and music shows are always a delight. And the music department can't be beat.

That fellow from New York, he swears he has never seen raccoons so big in his life.
But they were normal, large raccoons that us west-coast people are used to.
There must have been three raccoons on their campus.
I wonderful if the raccoons donate their positive vibes to the campus to make the administration so successful or does that spiritual energy go to help make the students passionate about learning?
Either way, raccoon energy or not, this school is amazing.
