While serving in the military, Dr. Harris discovered a need for podiatry services to be provided to elderly and disabled patients who were unable to travel to their doctor's offices. He started seeing patients at their homes on the weekends while in the Navy. Upon separation from the Navy, he established a house call practice in Jacksonville, Florida.
An ingrown toenail occurs when the side of the nail curls down and presses into your skin. The largest of the 26 bones in your foot is the heel bone. It has a network of more than a hundred ligaments, muscles, and tendons, in addition to 33 joints. Like all bones in your body, it is subject to various influences that can affect its operation or integrity.
Jenny Ragel, RN, has been with Podiatrist On Call since 2019. She has earned her BS in Nursing and has over 4 years' experience providing quality patient care. All of our patients love Jenny because of her compassion and cheerful smile. Jenny enjoys the outdoors with friends and family, likes cooking and baking pastries, and plays acoustic guitar.
An ingrown toenail occurs when the side of the nail curls down and presses into your skin. Ingrown nails can be caused by genetics, the recent injury to the toe from stubbing or jamming the toe, or trimming your toenails too short on the sides. Repeated stress from running can also cause an ingrown toenail.

I was able to get in immediately. Dr. Harris knows what he’s doing! Very down to earth and professional. I couldn’t walk. He got me into surgery so quickly. I am able to put more pressure on my foot now though I’m still in recovery than I could before. It’s very exciting to be doing so well so soon. He’s been very thorough with after care and checking on my progress. Extremely affordable and worth every penny! Don’t procrastinate, go see the good Dr.

Dr. Harris is a magnificent doctor! I called him and scheduled an appointment for my fiance who had been suffering from an ingrown toenail for quite some time. Within a couple days Dr. Harris came to our home and addressed the issue there. Not only was he very prompt in treating my fiances toe but he was also very understanding with any questions we had. Overall It was a painless and uncomplicated visit. I would definitely recommend Dr. Harris to anyone who might be skeptical about seeing a podiatrist. He is extremely thorough and obviously very passionate about his work.

Dr, Harris is an outstanding podiatrist! I was having some ankle issues, and he helped me ascertain the problem and found an enduring resolution to get me back on the path to health. He did not inundate me with information making this a very enjoyable and smooth visit. He is compassionate, caring, and a good listener. If you are unsure if it is even worth it to see a podiatrist, I know how you feel. I felt the same way. What I found after my visit is that there are better ways to getting healthy feet than improvising it. Thanks Dr. Harris!
