Dr. Marie Levine and the Levine Eye Center team strive to provide the best in optometry services. At Levine Eye Center, our professional optometrists are able to provide you with far more than just eyeglass prescriptions- they are dedicated to your total optical health and personal well-being through the use of modern advances and a personal approach. Modern Technology: Our facility is equipped with the most advanced tools in the diagnosis and correction of vision problems.
Visual Fields Testing- to detect any signs of glaucoma damage to the optic nerve, central or peripheral retinal disease, eyelid conditions, optic nerve disease, and diseases affecting the visual pathways within the brain. Laser assisted in situ keratomileusis, commonly referred to as LASIK, is a corrective alternative to glasses or contact lenses.

In order to make the transition to our office smoother for you, we have created a New Patient Center with everything you need to get started.
At Levine Eye Center, our goal is to promote good eye health and enable you to have the clearest vision possible. We accept several types of vision insurance, cash, checks, and most credit cards (Visa and MasterCard). We inform our Rutherford patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of your appointment.
At Levine Eye Center, we strive to provide comprehensive, primary eye care for the whole family. Preventative and routine eye exams are important to maintaining good eye health. Often, eye and vision problems do not have obvious symptoms or signs, but are easily diagnosed by a licensed optometrist.

Been going there for years now and it is awesome !!! The staff are really nice and Dr. Levine has been here for about 20 or 30 years and saw my parents and my grandparents when they were alive ! They are definitely great for THOROUGH eye exams for myself and my family and I would want to go anywhere else. Her daughter also practices there and is just as sweet as well, I saw her a few times when Dr. Levine was not available . Trust me any eye issue, you wont be disappointed.

I have been to 2-3 eye doctors in the past and this has definitely been one of the best offices I’ve been too. I’ve had the pleasure of being able to see both Dr. Levine and her daughter Dr. Cusenza for my past exams. They both are extremely thorough and work hard to provide the best care for all my eye needs. The office also has such an inviting family atmosphere with caring staff! It’s always a great experience and I actually look forward to getting my yearly exams! Any time my friends or family mention the eye doctor I always recommend them to come join me at the Levine eye center!!

They said I was a “new patient” even though I’ve been there in the past. I called for an appointment and I was able to get one within a few days, and you’d think since they said I was a new patient they’d at least give me a heads up of what they’d be charging me for since they asked what I was coming for. I went for a yearly eye exam since the place I usually go to didn’t have any appointments for the next month and I needed a new contact prescription. They charged me for a contact fitting that wasn’t covered under my insurance although I never asked for one nor needed one, and

I am happy to recommend the Levine Eye Center in Rutherford and have told many of my colleagues and friends that Dr. Levine's office has the most up-to-date diagnostic eye exam equipment and they are really at the cutting edge of eye care here in northern NJ. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a very well trained staff who do take their time with each patient. I have been a patient of Dr. Levine's for more than 25 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Her conscientious follow up as to my concerns about both my challenges with extremely dry eyes (from a lot of computer work)

I have been going to Dr Levine for many years. I have become increasingly disappointed with the lack of professionalism of her office staff. My children are covered by 2 insurance plans and we never have a co pay. My little one broke her glasses at school today. I contacted the office and asked them to fax her script so I can order her glasses quickly. I was told I couldn't have my script without paying a $10 co pay. Really? What has this office become. I asked to please let me speak to a manager or even the doctor herself. No luck. Really sad but my family will never step foot in

Just needed a small screw for my glasses, the front desk and team were support helpful, i asked them questions about pricing and services they all answered with smiles. For my next check up im coming back here.

Levine Eye Center of Rutherford is excellent. Dr. Chelsea Levine-Cusenza was thorough with my examination and contact lens fitting. The entire team is a pleasure to be treated by. Highly recommended!

I called as a new patient to make an appointment and the secretary hung up on me as I was getting the name of my insurance. I called back and told her my insurance then she told me she would have to call me back. I asked if I could make the appointment now and she only answered "no". Very unprofessional.
The doctor may be completely competent and professional (I never made the appointment to see the doctor) but the secretary was horrible. It was poor customer service and I'm glad I didn't spend any money with them supporting that.

I have been going to the Levine Eye Center for the last 7 years. I was looking for a physician that wasn't in a LensCrafters, but had a full practice, a range of eye glass offerings and an office staff. I started off seeing Dr.Levine, but recently moved to the younger doctor, Dr. Cusenza. I never feel rushed and have always had a pleasant, easy appointment. (It probably helps that I go annually in August, not the last 2 days in December!)

What I really love about this office is that there is always office staff to answer questions, help with insurance and most importantly-- pick up the

Waiting on my order of contacts and new glasses, but I felt very welcome as a new patent here. The process maybe took longer than I would have expected, but it wasn't a bother, I was treated very well! Glad to have found a nice go-to place while I'm living in the area.

I have been going to Levine Eye Center for three years now. Dr. Levine is extremely helpful and takes the time to give you a great examination. The doctor is very informative and always willing to answer all of my questions. They are so friendly and make all of my visits a pleasant experience.

When I first came here I did not have health insurance yet through the company I worked for. They helped work with my budget and showed me glasses I could afford at the time. Love this place and the people that work here. These people truly care!

They try to under prescribe you so that you have to get new lenses earlier so they make more money. They took a month to get the lenses. Hey called us when it was ready and we came in. Then they said they didn't have it. So it was a waste of a trip. Bad service. Although the doctor was very nice.

I had a very pleasant experience as a first-time patient of Dr. Levine's. She was friendly, down-to-earth and gave me practical advice about a specific type of lens that would work well with my prescription. Since I am breastfeeding she recommended against dilating my eyes but urged me to come back and have it done at no extra charge when I am no longer breastfeeding. I was pleased with the selection of designer frames available in the office and appreciated the help I received from the woman who worked there. She recommended a specific size frame based on the lens I was getting and helped

This is not a warm, welcoming office. The people who work there are cold; they could care less how long one waits. They act as if you are bothering them if you ask the question, how much longer? I waited for 2 hours to see this Dr. I was about to get up and leave and the Dr. came out and asked me to stay, it would not be that long. Forget that story, it was another 1/2 hour. I should have left.
I am not even sure why I stayed, maybe because they accepted my insurance and it was close by.
When the Dr. finally saw me, she was very arrogant, yes, a salesperson. She was trying to push a product

Beginning at my first appointment, I had a very bad experience at the Levine Eye Center.

I first had to wait over 45 minutes to be seen, although I made an appointment. When I was finally told by the receptionist that I would be seen, I saw one of Dr. Levine's assistants. She took me to a room and wrote down my information....I then had to wait another 15 minutes to see Dr. Levine. When I finally saw the doctor, I felt like I was meeting a salesman for contact lenses rather than an optometrist. She was being very pushy to me to buy from two options/types of very expensive contact lenses
