Services
During our initial over-the-phone or in-person consultation, you will share a general description and reason for seeking out for therapy. Then I will share with you my experiences on related issues. If both of us agree that we make a good match, we will proceed to make appointment to meet in my office.
Please check with your insurance company to ensure out-of-network coverage prior to the beginning of services. I will provide you with my professional and business information when you call your insurance carrier for pre-authorization. I provide the bill statement at the first appointment of each month for the services provided in the previous month for insurance reimbursement.
The combination of our personal characteristics and social experiences makes each one of us unique in our own ways. Thus, even if we are dealing with similar challenges, your story deserves compassionate and non-judgmental ears that understand that there is no one-size-that-fits-all solution to your current challenges.
When one door closes another door opens, but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us-Alexander Bell. We often have thoughts that hold us back. In therapy, I diligently work with clients on de-mystifying these thoughts, identifying alternative perspectives, and developing positive coping strategies.
Growing up, we might have heard messages from our parents that make us feel like we are not good enough; or treated by people in such a way that makes us feel worthless and powerless. Or, our parents might be very loving and they let us do whatever we like, but we feel like we don't know who we are ourselves.

Finding a therapist in the Bay Area is hard. Our family needed a family therapist to help us out with some things we couldn't work through on our own. I was afraid that it would be hard to find someone who worked well with myself, my husband AND our very picky teenager. When I tell you that Ting Yi was the perfect fit I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Ting Yi is patient, a fantastic listener and she has a great talent for diffusing a situation when people get irritated with each other. I looked forward to our sessions every week.

I've been seeing Ting-Yi for just shy of a year with nothing but good things to say. She's professional, warm, welcoming, and empowering, and despite some general anxieties leading up to a session I always look forward to my time with her. Therapy will likely be an on-going endeavor for me and I'm grateful to have her her support.

Based on my experience, she doesn't take this job seriously. I called her every day for 3 days to cancel an appointment. I called her for two weeks to ask for a bill statement. She is good at making excuses. Don't let her be your THERAPIST.
