Family trip to A-Bay with three children. So we needed a hotel that would allow five people to a room, and Riveredge Resort provided what we needed. We stayed in a large room with a hot tub and two balconies. The hotel had two pools, dining facilities, bars and a game room for the kids. It had everything we needed and the location is right on the river across from the beautiful Boldt Castle!
The room had a balcony with a view of the marina and town. The room was spotless and housekeeping even cleans the balcony every day so there are no cobwebs, which are always around when you're anywhere near the water. I was pretty impressed. We loved it so much we stayed an extra day. We ate breakfast each morning at the restaurant.
It was off-season so we were too late to do any of the boat or castle tours but we had an awesome, relaxing stay here and enjoyed exploring the beautiful little town. The room was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and there was a nice little breakfast of muffins and fruit and danishes in the morning.
Dining at the Riveredge Resort is a perfect complement to your stay or visit to Alexandria Bay. Tastefully prepared and thoughtfully served, our menus were designed to please. Daily Chef Specials showcase our culinary talents, and the sweeping views of the river and Boldt Castle paired with quality service will make your meal truly enjoyable.

Stayed for a birthday retreat. Pool was awesome for my kiddo! The view was outstanding! Could not have had a better look over Alexandria Bay.
Though, I rate three stars because the room was kind of gross. We had a loft room and that was awesome, general cleanliness was on point but the carpet was stained so bad. The railings outside had no privacy with fellow guests in terms of a divider. Which even that is tolerable. The breakfast was about non existent. We waited for a good 20 minutes in a line to get into the tiny breakfast nook when right across the hall was a huge banquet room that was completely

Beautiful hotel, great service. Christmas decor was absolutely beautiful! Restauarant is pricey though and the locals seemed to get the attention and service rather than the hotel guests. We will be back but eating elsewhere.

Decor was nice. Pleasant staff. Convenient location. "Hot" buffet food mostly cold, some way undercooked. Dining room coffee horrible.

The staff were very friendly. The bed was quite uncomfortable, sunken in on both sides, indicating it was well used. The curtains are such that the room darkening curtains stopped where the sheers began, so you couldn’t shut them, allowing the balcony lights to shine right in. There were cob webs in some areas, and the spiral staircase carpet leading up to the jacuzzi was filthy. The view was nice and the outside activities were wonderful. Bathroom could be updated.

Overpriced and dirty rooms. Many bugs in room and dirty walls. Service is good but look elsewhere. Everything is somewhat dated. Short walk to downtown.

Let me start with stating the hotel was nice enough, and the room was comfortable. Beautiful view of Bolt Castle and very close to the main street. We would consider staying again, however, they really need to step up thier cleaning. The hallways have dust and debris just lying around and no one vacuumed the halls the entire time we were there. The bathroom in our room had a build up of dirt and hair in the corners and our balcony was covered in spider webs filled with dead bugs.

Very clean because they are smart and do not have carpets in the room. Glad to have room service again. Watch the dining prices. I thought they are really high and the breakfast meals are large. Bar was never open which is disappointing to me

Staff was nice and friendly. Room was good size and clean. Overall hotel is outdated, we took the stairs the whole time (3rd floor) because of the elevator was so old. We had a connector room and the door separating the rooms was a single lock and there was no sound proofing. We could see the light and hear everything through the door/ walls. Alexandria Bay is definitely a party town and guests would be getting home from a good night at all hours...not a place to stay with small children.

Not sure why this place is called a "resort." It is a really old hotel that shows its age. The decor is dated, the mattresses are caved in, the door to my room stuck, the tv didn't have HD channels. The equipment in the gym was broke, every piece of equipment did not work.

The one thing I was looking forward to at this "resort" was the outdoor pool. However, they filled it in at some point and it no longer exists despite still being picture on their website.

The food at the restaurant is subpar. The lone highlight was our server Taylor who was very nice.

Do not stay

This place was lovely to stay at. The views and the grounds are GORGEOUS. The sunsets can't be beat by anywhere that I have been so far. The staff were very kind and accommodating. Check in and out is fast and efficient. we came for out one year anniversary and plan on making it back to this very place for our anniversaries to come. Great price on the jacuzzi king room with a balcony overlooking the St Lawrence. Can't wait for next year!!

I highly recommend this place
Staff could not be more pleasant.
A beautiful view of the St. Lawrence River while eating.
If I could I would give a much higher rating.

A resort - anything but! Needs serious updating! Dated 1980's fixtures, furniture, paint/wallpaper, etc. Desk Staff not very accommodating or friendly (attitude!) - they assign you a room and that's what you get, too bad if toilet runs non-stop or other issues with room. They have electrical issues - every time you opened/shut room door TV lost its connection and would turn to 'snow'. Seriously over priced for what you get for the dated accommodations. Convenience to Uncle Sam's boats/shopping and breakfast were the only plus points. They are raking in the dough

Visit the area every summer & winter. Winter choices are limited. Arrived on Friday evening. Town is quiet as expected. The sign on the building is partially lit. A few employees are gathered smoking outside the entrance, was like walking through an ashtray. Really dislike that. The employees were very nice and helpful while we were there other than the smoking thing.
At check in I was reminded the the "limited" continental breakfast was 7A-10 on Saturday AM. I went down @ 915 to see it being pushed away on a cart already. :-(
This hotel/resort was built in 1990. The hotel was impressive

River's Hell! The one thing nice I can say is there a gorgeous view of Boldt castle. The room is very outdated, the bed is only big enough for one person, even if your small. Our refrigerator did not work. Everything we had a in there (food and beverage) got warm. The Wi-Fi was a joke, never got it to work. The TV had a horrible picture, not clear. If you lose your key card, it's $5 to replace it. The shampoo, conditioner and soap are in plastic pump bottle in the shower, really?? How cheap can you get! Shampoo smelled like men's cheap stuff. I feel completely ripped off. For $226

My group of 4 women ate lunch here because we wanted a view of the water. We ate outside on the dock, at an umbrella table. Service was OK, a little slow at 2pm. The chef took off after he made our food, so the server could not add a food item that one of us wanted after seeing the other food.

All of us liked our food and would return here. At home this would be a 3 star place.
