As a proud Sparta native, Kelsy Miller attended college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Psychology and Political Science. After attending law school at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, and passing the bar exam, Ms. Miller moved to Cookeville to begin her career as a family law attorney.
Mrs. Kelsy Austin Miller was selected to receive the award of the Top Ten Lawyers Under 40. This award is only handed out to the family attorneys in the USA. And, only ten lawyers are selected for each state. The following is more information about the NAFLA. The National Academy of Family Law Attorneys is an organization devoted to recognizing the top family law attorneys in the nation.
We've already got everything figured out. The house, the kids, everything. This is what an agreed divorce sounds like. This office will only represent one of the spouses as the client, and the other spouse will proceed Pro Se, meaning they represent themselves.
The attorney will assist in drafting the documents needed to finalize the divorce based on the client's direction and then discuss the proposals with the other party (or their attorney in the event they hire one) to determine if there is an agreement. If the documents are satisfactory to both parties, they will be signed, notarized, and filed with the court, and the divorce is then ready to be finalized.

In Tennessee, when a child is born out of wedlock, child custody is with the mother absent a court order to the contrary. This necessarily means that if a father wishes to have court-ordered visitation, then a Petition to Establish Paternity is what needs to occur. Before a court grants court ordered visitation, then paternity must be established.
Permanent Parenting Plans are only permanent if neither party ever does anything to change it. If your child or children are very young when the Permanent Parenting Plan is entered, either in a divorce or in a custody action, then chances are good that you'll need a modification at some point before they reach adulthood.

Kelsy and her staff helped me achieve a great outcome during my Divorce. In the middle of the Pandemic even !! I had a great outcome on all aspects of our divorce case. Division of property, Business and Child custody even. They care and know how to handle all types of personalities when dealing with the ugliness. Starting off nice and knowing when to get aggressive really pays off.
thank you for a great job

I found Kelsy and her team when I was looking for an attorney for my divorce. They were great with me, helpful, and answered any questions I had in ways I could understand. When it came time to change the parenting plan (crazy circumstancs), I called her office. Everything played out smoothly. I know where to go if I need help in the future. I absolutely recommend!!

I switched to Kelsy during my divorce and was very pleased with the services that she offered. She is easy to communicate with, listened to my concerns, and filed papers in a timely matter (TRUST ME, this is really important!) Her office is clean and neat, her staff returns emails quickly, and she is good at getting you in when you need to see her without running up the clock. I have nothing but good things to say, as a past client. Her work speaks for itself.

I can't begin to thank Kelsy and her staff for all that they did to help me and my husband. Going into it, we thought that a custody battle was going to be a long, drawn out process, but Kelsy and her team made it effortless. They were extremely professional, caring, considerate, and attentive. I would highly recommend her for anyone who wants to win their case. You will not be disappointed.

I was not successful in setting up an appointment to discuss a potential civil case with the attorney. The receptionist was helpful; however, I received a follow-up phone call from another staff person. Attorney-client privilege is an important concept which was lost on this staff person. She was rude, stated that office regulations and policy required me to provide non-germane information for her etification, and, when I declined to discuss my personal information further with this “staff” person, she hung up on me. Although I located this office via a Google search, I did not take the time

Kelsy was a blessing to my children and I. I have been through three lawyers and they just promised things and took my money they are all wrapped up in a small town. My case battle took over a year but Kelsy did not let them run over me nor push me into making a decision that I did not won’t and helped bring a lot of things to light along with things that was just being pushed under the wrong so that no one would see the wrong the party was doing. I would recommend her to anyone she is amazing and the office as well.

We hired Kelsy Miller a year ago to help us through an extremely difficult time. Kelsy and her team comprehensively walked us through every step of the process, answered any questions we had, and always provided an answer in a timely manner. Although our court case took longer than we originally expected, (this was no one person’s fault and actually something she had advised us could happen due to the type of case), Kelsy never wavered with her focus and determination to achieve the best possible outcome for the minor children involved. It is overly apparent that she cares for children and strives

Divorce is extremely difficult to deal with and I certainly picked a great attorney with a great staff to help guide me through the process. If you are looking for experience and knowledge then Kelsy is one of the best. She was very attentive and actually listened to my concerns and helped address those concerns with her past experience in the judicial system. You always look for the best advice you can get but even more so when you are paying for that advice. If you have to go through the process, just know that picking the proper attorney can have a huge impact on the rest of your life. I wouldn
