Coachella Valley Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo (CVBJJ) is a family friendly, highly skilled, and safe environment to learn the powerful art of jiu jitsu. As one of the healthiest activities you can do, and you can do it for decades. It is also well suited for both men and women, it's an easy way to make new friends, and there's never been a better time to learn than now.
CVBJJ has several programs, including women's only classes, youth wrestling, and included both traditional gi (uniformed) classes, and no gi classes. Our instructors are world class in their understanding of the art, and how to teach it to everyone sharing the mat, champions and non-competitors alike.

Services
CVBJJ was founded by Glen Heggstad in 1987. After commuting three times a week from Palm Springs to Los Angeles for twenty years in order to train with the best, he subsequently earned Black Belt teaching credentials in Shotokan, Kung Fu, Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. During the nineties he was one of the few Americans to live in Thailand to train in Muy Thai Boxing.
At Coachella Valley Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we value our student's time and dedication to their study of martial arts. With that at heart, EVERY CLASS is instructed by one of our black belts instructors. All CVBJJ classes are based on a consistent and successful structure developed to help our students of all skill levels and fitness reach their goals.

This is the best gym I’ve ever been to on the road. I did 2 lunch classes, and there were about 10 black belts at each class in addition to all other levels and ages. It felt as close to Valko bjj , my home gym in Chicago, as any other gym I’ve been to. The owner head instructor has a deep wealth of grappling knowledge with a ranked d1 college wrestling son as well. And despite having 4 kids , he wouldn’t take my $20. Roy Dean was in the class too, and I got to meet and roll with him too. I’ve been training a long time (15 yrs , brown belt) and have done bjj all over the world , this is

I love the environment. They make me feel welcome, even though I just going for extra training. The instructors are always making sure you are doing the drills properly. Also, there are so many students to roll and willing to give you advice. The class is very complete. For example, we start with bjj warm ups, then we move to walk around drills, then the instructors teach us 2 to 4 different moves, and finally we roll 30 minutes before the end of the class. This is my favorite place to be Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
