Founded in 1980, Gutschenritter's Welding specializes in repair welding, steel sales, metal forming, portable line boring, and portable welding. Owners Jim and Mary Gutschenritter and their staff are here to solve your welding and fabrication needs. Repair welding is the thing that sets us apart from other job shops or factories.

We always like to say that anyone can make something new but it takes real craftsmen to be able to repair something and make it stronger than new. Line boring is a welding/machining process to repair bores that have been worn out, oversized, and irregular shaped. We are able to build up the inside diameter of the bore with a robotic welding system and machine to the proper size.
Services
In 1980 after 10 years of working in manufacturing and fabrication, Jim and Mary Gutschenritter set out to fill the gap in area welding services and capabilities. It was then, with the help of family members and a loan from a friend, that Gutschenritter's Welding Inc. born.

What started out as a small shop providing welding repair services gradually expanded their capabilities and equipment to include several new services like portable welding (units, x 12 ft shear, ) metal forming (350 ton brake press), and portable line boring. As the business grew, working space became a problem, which led to multiple shop expansions as well.
Specialized welding repair is the thing that sets us apart from other job shops or factories. We always like to say that anyone can make something new, but it takes a real craftsmen to be able to repair and make it stronger than new. Over the years people have come up to us and asked "what do you do?"
Portable Line boring is an on-location welding/machining process to repair bores that have been worn out, oversized or irregular shaped. We are able to build up the inside diameter of the bore with a robotic welding system and machine back to OEM specs. Once finished, the bore will have a slip fit or press fit to accept new bushing or pins.
Shortly after opening for business we realized that a portable welding setup would be needed to fill the needs of Gutschenritter's customers with on site welding and repair. Although, the first welding setup was very useful it lacked the image we were trying to form. So in 1991 we purchased a Big 40G Miller welder.
All of our metal forming takes place in our Press Brake Department on a Cincinnati Proform 350 Press Brake. This machine is fully CNC controlled with a 24 programmable back gauge, with a 10 ft. As any fabricator would tell you, the best press brake in the world is nothing without the proper tooling.
