Services
Psychotherapy can effectively treat many psychiatric disorders or can be used as an adjunct to medication management. Therapy can assist an individual in making gradual, meaningful and measurable changes toward a more fulfilling life. Through psychotherapy one can achieve increased self-esteem, mood stability, enhanced coping skills and increased insight.
Several types of therapy can offer highly effective treatment for certain specific illnesses. However, one approach to treatment may not address all the needs of a patient. Integrative Psychotherapy can be used to address and treat the complex issues and experiences that can impact an individual's mental health.
If you are interested in pursuing CBT, it's important to understand what it is in a bit more depth. CBT has both cognitive and behavioral components. Cognitive therapy addresses the thinking that often underlies a wide variety of disorders. This therapy is frequently used to treat anxiety disorders, including OCD and PTSD, mood disorders, such as, Major Depressive Disorder, and insomnia.
Interpersonal Therapy focuses on the current relationships a patient has with family members, colleagues, and other persons in the patient's circle. The therapist client relationship is of key importance in this modality as interpersonal problems may present in the therapy room and can be addressed and resolved.
Many of Richard A Waldman MD's patients seek out treatment during difficult times. Therapy is a source of support and insight and can often lead to positive life change and personal growth. Often, a client's source of emotional difficulty is associted with alterations in one's biochemistry. There are many misconceptions surrounding psychiatric disorders, and these can further exacerbate symptoms.

I was looking for someone for my mother. Found Dr. Waldman via an Internet search, and while they were less than 10 reviews, they all seemed pretty good. Called twice and left messages over a two week period. His recording says we can reach him by cell phone if it’s not an emergency, so I also texted requesting a call back. Still no response.
Maybe he’s not excepting new patients anymore. But he should at least give some form of communication and info.
Imagine someone (existing or potential new) with an illness waiting to hear from their doctor and not getting a response. No thanks, I’m

Awesome doctor—highly recommend! He immediately got my medication changed, and I have had huge success since my first visit. He also referred me to a therapist to address my OCD with CBT, and that has been life-changing.

DR. Waldman gave me my life back.! I was horribly sick from having had ECTs, and I saw numerous therapists who specialized in a variety of techniques. I tried everything, until I FINALLY found, Dr. Waldman! He is, indeed, a great giftl

I see the review above and I'd like to say, this is definitely not the experience I've had with Dr. Waldman. While, yes, he's very straight forward, that is part of his appeal to me. He's very punctual, I never have to wait in the office longer than a few minutes. He's kind but blunt. He has never rushed me in any form or fashion, I absolutely love our visits.

I came to see him after another doctor had my meds all messed up, I was severely postpartum depressive and was 100% lost. Dr. Waldman listened to what I had to say, changed my meds and seems to have gotten it right
