This cutting-edge treatment requires highly specialized physicians such as Dr. Patel who can serve as surgeon, pathologist and reconstructive surgeon. The roots of a skin cancer may extend beyond the visible portion of the tumor. If these roots are not removed, the cancer will recur. A surgery starts with the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) specialist examining the visible lesion and planning what tissue to remove.
True Dermatology strives to offer comprehensive dermatologic care with expertise and compassion to ensure that you receive the best possible evaluation and treatment of your skin condition. The specialty of general dermatology includes the medical diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the skin, hair and nails.
First time patients should plan to arrive early in order to complete registration materials. Pertinent medical and surgical history information (If you desire to have your medical records sent to our office you may request to fill out a release of medical records from our office or from the previous doctor's office.).

Was seen a month ago and have yet to hear back from his office for a referral. I called on several occasions for an update on the referral. Felt staff truly dropped the ball on assisting me with my situation. Last contact with them to find out about my referral still nothing was done. Extremely disappointed.

I had a terrible experience here. I scheduled an appointment with True Derm. due to all the positive reviews. When I got to the office (15 minutes early to fill out paperwork) it was completely full. I then proceeded to wait OVER an hour and a half to be shown back. Then I waited another 30 minutes. The Dr. came in for about 2 minutes then gave a prescription then left. The care for their patients was obviously slim to none. I would recommend anywhere but here.

Dr. Patel and the True dermatology staff are amazing. Appointments are easy to schedule, the staff is courteous and efficient. I spend very little time waiting every time I go. Dr. Patel is very professional and his practice is very patient centered. I highly recommend him to anybody looking for a great dermatologist. I noticed improvements in my complexion within a 1 month time period, also, every treatment he offers is very reasonably priced. I am so happy I discovered True dermatology!

Dr. Patel is the most compassionate and helpful dermatologist I have ever been to. He even saw me the same day I called. He has great bedside manners! I've been to many dermatologists, but he was the only one to actually listen and diagnose my condition correctly. I feel much better now that I am under his care. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a dermatologist.

I was very pleased with Dr. Patel and his staff at True Dermatology. Dr. Patel performed the MOHS procedure on me. He is one of the very few dermatologists in Alabama certified in MOHS. The surgery was a complete success. I was very impressed when Dr. Patel telephoned me as a follow up to ensure I was doing well. I will continue to use TRUE Dermatology for all of my dermatological needs. Great doctor and staff !!!
