I’ve been to many dermatologists for acne and this one is my favorite. Nurse practitioner, Rigsby actually listened to my concerns and wanted them fixed as much as I did. Struggling with acne and acne scars for years was rough, but I finally feel like I’m getting it controlled and almost eliminated thanks to Skin Wellness Center of Alabama!

I read mentions of delayed response time when setting up an appointment. I submitted my appointment request through their website and received a call within a couple hours to set things up. I think anything less than 24 hours is exceptional.
Communication:
Im sure Dr. Hartman is a busy man. To be honest, I'd be concerned about my choice if he wasn't busy. My experience is that he moves with urgency, but I never felt rushed

I work in care, and I know how it's supposed to be done I was nt handle right at this place, Just nt what I expected at all,
I set the appointment bk in March and waited because I wanted to specifically be treated by an African American Derm,, I set the appt and was reach bk via text and asked the reason for the visit via text, I was vague and stand offish because i was expecting a call bk nt texting a stranger so I gv a faint description of my concerns ,,,
I gt to the appointment the Dr. came in ,, mind you since March of course I have more concerns,, tried asking questions and was ignored

Today was my first appointment with Dr. Hartman. I’ve struggled with acne for the past 6 years and he came up with the perfect plan for me based off my skincare needs. He was phenomenal and he explained everything in detail that we would be doing and made me comfortable. Super nice and professional doctor. So happy I chose Skin Wellness Dermatology.

IT ENDED WITH A HUG! I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to be examined by nurse practitioner Allison Hayes. She looked me in my eyes and made sure I felt heard. She took great care of me and made sure I understood the next steps. Most importantly she listened to me!!! I had been to so many doctors and I suggested to them I have Lichens. They all brushed it off without even looking at me. Allison let me know we are in this together and we are going to figure this out. Thank you so much you guys.

Dr. Hartman and the Skin Wellness team are excellent! Appointments are always on time. I would not go anywhere else for my skincare and dermatology care. Dr. Hartman is always knowledgeable, personable and kind. The new Skin Wellness Center is beautiful and is also a super clean facility. I recommend Skin Wellness and Dr. Hartman to all of my family and friends!

When first meeting a physician as a new patient, I have high yet still very reasonable expectations. I expect an investigative, exploratory consult and friendly pleasantries as a form of relationship building. Dr. Hartman’s chair side manner was not inviting nor informative—it felt dismissive. I expected exploratory questions on my home regimen and personal habits. What I received was a greeting, a curt diagnosis and a treatment plan. This experience was horrible from start to finish!! Robotic doctors that read a script while assessing my niece, stating the obvious , treated us like we were dumb. I guess we were dumb to come here! We won't be back and I don't suggest wasting your time or money with these specialists who are looking just to make money! . Wish I could give negative stars! Don't waste your time coming here.
