Feel like that should be mentioned first. Great place with delicious food and an excellent staff. They also have their own custom mayos that you can try. Ordered a Tea, Shake, Corndog, and Meatball sandwich. Everything was tasty and enjoyable with a really great price. Would eat here again any time. Staff was courteous and did regular check-ins to see how I was doing.

I don't know how I have lived here for several years and only just tried out this cafe twice for the first time this year. Now I feel like I have been missing the best part of Willits for the past 5 years! If I had known how good the food was here, I wouldn't have even bothered with the other sandwich shops. Their meatball sandwich is the BOMB! - just the right thickness, toasted to a perfect crunchiness, with the most delicious meatballs and toppings. My husband loves their turkey sandwich. I can't wait to try their other offerings. And of course, service is excellent!

Everything at the Loose Caboose Cafe is Absolutely Delicious, Everytime!!! We were SO happy that they were able to seat our friends & family crew of 8, right in the middle of their wonderfully decorated (cute caboose/train local timber theme) interior dining room, and at 12:30pm on a Friday, which was very busy, But that didn’t stop our incredible server(the whole staff was masked:-) from cheerfully seating us, taking our orders, and bring us all piping hot, yummy food!!! We all got something different- the menu is extensive, and I swear, Nothing that comes out of that kitchen isn’t perfectly

My family loves Loose Caboose so much, the food is excellent and made with care. They are usually pretty busy because how good there food is. The waitresses there are so kind and hardworking. I was born in Willits in 1982 and I've been all over California eating at some of the best places around and I'm glad to say this place is in my hometown

Haven't eaten here recently but one of the employees is claiming that her boss is letting her come to work while still testing positive for covid and still having symptoms including coughing while serving food to customers. This is in direct contradiction to what the CDC advises. At least two employees here have tested positive for covid in the last month. Will remove this review if I see evidence that the owner is no longer endangering her customers and employees by letting sick employees come to work.

We went to the Loose Caboose for lunch yesterday. The service was great, friendly and prompt. We both ordered the potato soup, plus I ordered a small salad. The salad was pretty big, but otherwise a typical side salad. The soup had a good flavor, however it came to us boiling hot, too hot to eat without blowing on every spoonful for a while before eating. The spoon was one of those tiny plastic bowl style kinds, so that made it even harder to eat with. Also, as a result of being cooked to the boiling point, the base had broken. It wasn't terrible, but it was visually broken, plus the mouth

Loose Caboose Cafe has the most amazing sandwiches. Anytime I order and someone asks what it is I am eating and I reply "Loose Caboose" I never fail to hear "oh my gosh I love them, their food is so good". My favorite sandwich is the Santa Fe Chicken. They also have delicious soups and a wide variety of drinks. I like their Italian sodas.

I discovered this spot on Yelp when looking for a place to get grab a bite en route from Sacramento to the Avenue of the Giants. It was about three hours from our hotel which put us in town right at lunch time. Although I was a bit concerned about there being a wait since we were on a tight schedule, it was a Tuesday and I was able to snag a table on the patio just as someone got up. The order process was a bit confusing and I'm not sure if it's due to covid safety or being short staffed. I had to go inside to place my order but only the patio was open for seating. Wow! So my husband stopped by to pick up a to go order and was in line, not a problem, but both women in front of him could not get the ATM to work- so both women had to leave to find a functional ATM. With no one else there the girl behind the counter told him, when he asked what they were wanting for now, told him he had to wait for the other women to come back... What?!? The food was just sitting there in the bag and he had cash!! This employee was just standing there! I used to eat there weekly and no longer after that clear display of disrespect. How can you wait in line for your turn then

We stopped here for lunch as we were driving through, as recommended from a friend. They had some patio seating but we took our food to go. I got the french dip and it was delicious. My husband got the chicken pesto and it was delicious. My daughter got the BLT, happy girl. My other daughter got a plain hot dog, seemed good quality with yummy bread!
The staff members were very friendly and sweet. We would definitely stop here again if we ever head back this way.

Stopped by to grab some sandwiches for our trip to the Avenue of the Giants. The sandwiches were good from what I remember, but I was also driving for a really long time. Maybe I was just hungry.
Keep an eye on those water bags with the pennies in them. They're supposed to ward off flies.
Only downside is that they don't take credit cards.
