Services
The Grill At 1951 is the Gem of Restaurants in Port Charlotte also serving Punta Gorda and Charlotte County. Please see our verified 5-Star reviews. Prices are moderate, competing with the 'big national franchises', but surpassing their quality. The ambiance is casual fine dining with local artists playing jazz and popular tunes.
There is a private party room available in the back of the restaurant for sit-down gatherings of 32 people and more room in the lobby that has a small bar and private bathrooms. The handicap-accessible entrance is in the rear of the restaurant, and there is plenty of parking. This room is available for corporate functions, weddings, birthdays, retirement, or any type of get-together you would want.

Sorry, first visit, can't give you a 5 yet. Interesting place. We did the Tuesday/Wednesday 2 for 1 deal. A limited menu of 3 courses and a bottle of red or white wine for $61. Decent selection of food and wine on the limited menu. You get a salad or soup, entree, choice of 2 desserts and the bottle for that price. Its $41 with no liquor. They also offer a carafe for $51. Unfortunately they ran out of the Cab, but we got a nice substitute. The waiter was worth the price of the meal. He was extremely entertaining and my spouse was part of the card trick!
My spouse loved her lasagna, only downside

The restaurant was full. The entertainment was great, food was very good and we have been there many times. BUT, we had a waitress that was overwhelmed--hopefully, either too many tables or just an awful night. After being seated, we waited an unusually long time for drink orders or water which we completely understood seeing the crowd. When we got waitress's attention to place our dinner order, she rudely said "I'll be with you" and that was after an unusually long time before placing our orders. But, what we found very unacceptable was the under the breath comments and

Wish I could give this restaurant 6 stars. From the inviting, polite and caring staff to the relaxing atmosphere and live music, this is the best place to unwind and enjoy a night to yourself.
Regardless of which staff member is taking care of you, know you will be cared for like family.
If you are here on a night Kevin is tendin bar, you are in luck! Best espresso martini I have ever had hands down.
Definitely coming back next time I am in town.

Had dinner there last night. Service very good! Excellent wine selection but food OMG, order Veal scallopini, if you like rubber, and who does!! The presentation should've told me right then and there, terrible one bite and you gagged! The sauce tasted like someone took vinegar and poured it all over the pasta! I Sent it back! waiter he was was very apologetic, order the chicken, also terrible! Tasted like it sat in water, no flavor. My other half thought it was me and then he tasted it and agreed. The sauce poured all over the top of the chicken was fettuccine sauce from a jar, I know this

I’m a truck driver and was in town for one day staying at the hotel next door and decided to go because the menu looked so good. The bartender Kevin is awesome!!! So personable and friendly.
The music was great the oysters were amazing.
I will definitely put this on my maps to visit when I’m in the area again

There's just something about putting off going to a restaurant and than when you finally go there...utter disappointment. Firstly, understand that they cater to a specific crowd. As such, what they offer is specific to this crowd. Now, the attempt is there. Decor: on point. Music: a rare find in the town. Food: abysmal. I try to really find the positives when I visit places so here we go: ambiance and drink variety. Cons? Wait time was ridiculous, food tasted bland with soupy sauce (alfredo), and the prices were NOT worth it. Other places in town offer martinis less than $17 with way better taste

D I S A P P O I N T E D... first time visiting, happened to be our 40th anniversary what a terrible experience. "The Chad" our waiter was horrible. We came in for the 3-course meal, found out after we arrived it was not available however it was still presented to us in the menus we were given! He went back to the kitchen and they said that they would honor that special. Then things went downhill... we were served our chowder (which was way too salty) and before we could finish it our dinners came out why the hurry! The salmon dinner was hot and very good but the Osso Bucco was barely

Well this was our 1st time here.we our full time residents for 2.5 years.
The food was good a little under seasoned for my tast but thats ok u can add not take away.
What we did not like and noticed for the maybe 1/2 dozen tables of patrons was- we were seated no menus at first. We notice another table of 4 looking at the menus on there phones and other tables were handed menus with all options
Dinner specials.
Fixed Dinner for 2 at 40$$$.
We had to ask for all this menus to decide what we wanted and how to order.
Tho we already know all this we thought they were just looking for us to order

The Grill At 1951 was a nice dining experience. The restaurant has an "old school/world" feel to it with dimmed lighting and a newer twist with slideshows of famous masterpiece paintings on the TV screens around the restaurant. The martini menu is extensive and the martinis we ordered were delicious - the Angel Eyes and Extra Dirty Martinis were good. We ordered the surf and turf with the 7 oz filet and lobster tail. The filets were just okay and the lobster tails were rather small for the price point ($48). The pistachio crusted goat cheese appetizer was tasty. The chocolate lava cake was mediocre

We ordered the calamari and the dipping sauce was honey based with a little tang, pretty tasty. The scallops with risotto and bacon jam was pretty good with a nice sear on the scallops and a creamy texture for the risotto. The shrimp and scallop linguini however, had very small scallops that were dry and chalky. The bartender needed help and twice I received a drink with lipstick on the rim. Our server was nice but seemed overwhelmed and forgot our drinks a couple of times. The atmosphere has a vibe of like an old supper club meets an old steak house. The food was a bit overpriced for the quality

Wonderful evening for our anniversary, had reservations and were seated at a high top table in the back, which was a perfect view of the entertainment.
Ordered Maryland crab patty for appetizer and it was delectable and full of fresh crab like from the Chesapeake. Husband had the prime rib which was flavorful and served piping hot. Generous portion so we took half home. Missing the au jus sauce on the side. It would have been a good accompaniment to the root vegetables and mashed potatoes. My filet mignon was thick and juicy, but again missing the au jus. We should have asked.

1st time in for dinner and Elvis tribute. Will not go back. Dinner, venue and entertainment a triple flop! Very disappointed. Show was to begin at 6...started after 7pm. Dinner was to be served at 5:30...6:15 instead. Waited 30 minutes to get drink order! Entree` arrived 45 minutes after salad, monk fish (tail piece with tail on!) had bones in the first bite and both our meals were stone cold. Beer was not cold and the Margarita was awful.
I'm not sure if they were short staffed or just poorly managed, but the entire evening was a disaster. Definitely not worth the $$$!
