We are pleased to announce that Laurel Environmental Associates has officially changed its name to Laurel Environmental Geosciences, DPC. This is a major milestone in our company's 26-year history of providing comprehensive environmental consulting and site remediation services. The new name reflects an expansion of our practice into new areas of the geoscience field, such as geotechnical, geophysical and geothermal services.

We are now a licensed Design Professional Corporation (DPC) in New York State which will allow us to incorporate new engineering services to meet our client's most demanding project needs. It's still OK to call us Laurel Environmental, it is a name we are proud of!

Laurel Environmental Geosciences DPC (Laurel) is a full-service environmental consulting firm with expertise in all facets of environmental investigation, testing and remediation. Our hallmark is to provide accurate, timely and cost-effective results tailored to our clients' needs. We are acutely aware that our clients will make important and sometimes costly decisions based on the information that we provide for them.
An Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is an investigation designed to determine whether environmental degradation has occurred on a property, and the likelihood of hidden liabilities for purchasers, owners, operators, insurance and financial institutions. The need for the ESA stems from the all appropriate inquiry set forth in Section 9601 (35) (b) of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA).
A site history review is comprised of a detailed background search to identify current and historical uses of a Building or Subject Property in question. The historical use of a building can reveal potential environmental risks to the site in question and/or surrounding properties. Similarly, an in-depth review of the historical property use at nearby sites can also assist in excluding potential environmental risks from the final report.
Once Laurel completes the site history review, a site-specific environmental study, and review of federal, state, and local databases the compiled information is prepared into a final report for the client. The report includes pertinent information regarding the Subject Property and related on-site operations, as well as identifying current and historical environmental impacts of surrounding properties, up to a one-mile radius.
