Stevie Hagen grew up on Mercer Island and began dancing at the age of 2 with Camille Chrysler. She pursued a dance career intensively at Pacific Northwest Ballet School and continued her training at Cornish College of the Arts, where she graduated with a BFA in dance. Stevie privately coaches students in ballet, pointe, and floor barre technique and is also a certified Pilates and Barre instructor.
She currently works with Pilates clients and dance students of all ages around the Mercer Island and Bellevue area. Sharing her love for dance and fitness brings Stevie immense joy, and assuring that every student leaves feeling accomplished, challenged, and encouraged, is her top priority. Stevie began teaching adult ballet and pointe classes as a substitute for Deena Dunning in 2016.

Accompanied by a parent or guardian, this class is the perfect way to connect with your toddler and watch as they discover the joy of dance and music! Your child will explore and discover the magic of ballet through story telling and props during this class! This ballet/tap combo class is perfect for children that love to dance and move their feet.
At CDS we expect both parents and students to treat our staff, other families, and our facility with the ultimate respect. CDS values teamwork, community, encouragement, and creating a safe place for every child, both physically and emotionally. Gossiping and bullying are strictly forbidden both in class and online.
Creation Dance Studio has a welcoming and encouraging community of adults that all have one incredible thing in common- we absolutely love to dance! All classes will be limited to 13 dancers at this time and pre-registration, masks, and vaccination are required at this time. Dancers must be at least 15 years of age to take an adult class, however, special exceptions can be made under very specific circumstances.
Ballet teaches precision, grace, expression, and alignment while also increasing strength, flexibility, and body awareness. These valuable qualities learned throughout class create a strong foundation for all other styles of dance! At CDS we offer Beginning (coming this fall), Beginning/Intermediate, and Intermediate ballet classes.
From your new portal you will be able to buy dance cards, sign up for drop-in classes, and view your upcoming class schedule! All classes require pre-registration at this time. If you have class cards for ballet or pointe class from last year you can use them from 7/17-8/21. All pre-existing punch cards must be brought with you to class and shown before class.

We love Creation Dance Studio! We are so lucky to have Stevie and her amazing team on the island. The variety of classes and the happy energy are everything. Highly recommend the tap/ballet or jazz/modern combo classes. Such a great way for your child to explore different styles at the same time.

Stevie has the ability to make it fun to learn the challenging positions and combinations in ballet! In class, we are challenged to improve while being affirmed for what we do well. Stevie inspires us by example and with affirmation. Our performances are really fun! Performing together has built a strong sense of community among the dancers and fostered a very positive, friendly environment that is welcoming of new people!

Creation Dance Studio has the very best adult ballet and adult pointe classes. Stevie is so knowledgeable and encouraging that I always feel a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment after a class, even after a long day at work. Her classes provide a great work out focusing on both technique and artistry. Stevie fosters a wonderful, inclusive community of dancers from ages 16-86 who take class and also perform in the community. My husband, who had never taken any form of dance, has taken her Thursday class for adult beginners and has loved it.

Stevie is the ultimate professional. She is an outstanding teacher -- positive, cheerful and patient – arriving at each of our sessions enthusiastically prepared with fresh ideas and new approaches. In addition to being well-versed in Pilates and yoga instruction, Stevie’s dance background has been critical to my recovery from injury, as she has guided me through postural alignment and foot strengthening work. She has also, proactively, coordinated with my physical therapist to assure they are working in tandem.

I really like this adults ballet class.
I am bigginer and I am not good at remembering Choreography on time but I really enjoy dancing with them.
I think because of Stevie teacher.
She is welcome to everyone who want to learn ballet. She remembers all of our members’ name and say “hi “ and call our name when we come into the class!
She also give me advice which makes me good motivation.
She hold seasonal performance for Mercer Island nursing homes every season.
I love the idea that we can connect local people through our passion-dancing ballet.
