Services
The history of the Arthur Murray Franchised Dance Studios began in 1912 with a man named Arthur Murray, an American symbol of entrepreneurial success and social dancing. Murray was among the first to use advertising techniques considered cutting edge at the time. His concept of selling dance lessons by mail, one step at a time, took the use of direct mail to a new level.
The quickstep is a popular ballroom dance that originated in the Charleston and the foxtrot crazes of the 1920s. Faster than the foxtrot, it's a relatively easy dance to learn but challenging to master, particularly as you progress through the fundamentals. It requires a lot of energy and the ability to dance lightly and gracefully on your feet; the best quickstep dancers often appear as if their feet barely touch the ground.
The term salsa refers to a variety of Latin dances with origins in Cuba and Puerto Rico, with regional differences both here and in the Latin American region creating a host of different salsa "flavors." The mambo, rumba, and cha-cha contributed much of the dance's basic steps, but the word "salsa" itself is relatively recent, having been coined by an American record company that specialized in that particular style of music.
Swing dancing remains one of the most popular dance styles in modern dance clubs. Three dances, in particular, make up the basis of swing dancing: the Lindy Hop, the Charleston and the Jitterbug, but the beauty of swing dance is that improvisation is encouraged. The basic dance steps of each style are relatively easy to learn, and as you gain more confidence you can layer on different moves as the mood - and the song rhythm - strikes you.
Teachers are trained to make learning fun and easy, and you can help by remembering the following:. In teaching couples, we have learned that men typically progress slower because they have more to do and tend to be more analytical or mechanical. Women, on the other hand, feel movement quicker and therefore, THE LADY MUST TRY TO BE PATIENT AND NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH TOO SOON.

I can't possibly say enough about how incredible our experience was with Ashton. My husband and I took 5 lessons before our wedding to practice our first dance, and everything about the experience (and the final result) was beyond perfect. My husband is over a foot taller than I am, so that's already an issue, and we are NOT natural dancers. But Ashton worked her magic on us and made us feel SO comfortable, during the lessons and during the actual dance! She was so sweet, encouraging, fun, and just an absolute joy to work with. We are beyond happy with how everything turned out, and we have only

I sent the following email to our teacher! She was amazing! I would give AM Bellevue and especially Emily and Sonora 10 million stars if I could.
This email says it all:
Hi Sonora, I've been thinking of you since the wedding! I wanted to thank you for your enthusiastic, encouraging and awesome instruction. We could NOT or would NOT have even attempted to dance at my son's wedding if it wasn't for you. As complete newbies, you encouraged us and gave us confidence. My son was sooo confident and he made me feel like I could conquer any fear of looking foolish. LOL! It's a big deal for this "non

I enjoy going Bellevue Studio. The staff and instructors are supportive and work as team. They gave me confidence and acknowledgement to succeed. I am happy when I am in the studio because they are beautiful… people. I want everyone to know I finally dance Cha Cha as well as Smooth dances such as Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot etc. Thank you Arthur Murray, Bellevue. Wait Wait, We have other gatherings like Tuesday and Friday, student parties. Also other festivals that boost the moral of the students. Fun! Fun! Come and Join us.

THE PLACE TO LEARN TO BALLROOM DANCE!
I’ve always been a fan of Arthur Murray Dance Centers, but the Bellevue location is filled with a superstar staff. The environment is fun, the teachers excited to teach you and the experience is second to none. Combine that with themed parties and a community that welcomes everyone and you get a dance studio that is sure to teach even the clumsiest of dancers.
I’ll be coming back here every time I’m in town. Even if it’s just to soak. Up some good juju before heading off to another destination.

My friend is a student here and while I was visiting from out of state she took me to the studio with her. I ended up going to one of the parties, doing a lesson, group class, and attending medal ball to cheer on everyone participating. I never expected to fall in love with this place its instructors and students alike and I certainly never… intended to dance. The instructors took me by the hand and gave me little choice in the matter (something I am very grateful for) and I ended up doing something I never thought I could. Jay, Tre, Ross, and Miko are not only great teachers but amazing

Looks like most everybody, I too started with a Groupon. 3 years ago. The program is very engaging, every dance for every taste, you can learn as much or as little as you want. Both the private lessons one on one, and the group classes are taught by very experienced instructors on a very high level. Friday parties at the studio are a lot of fun.… And for those who likes glamor, Showcases and Dance-o-Ramas, where you show off what you learned and can compete If desired. Very friendly, very knowledgeable staff. AM Bellevue becomes your second family. . Highly recommend for everyone who's thinking

My husband and I've been taking lessons at Arthur Murray for 2 years now and they're wonderful! Over the holidays we had all 6 of our kids with their spouses and some in-laws take a private group class and it was so much fun!! Our instructor, Tre, taught us the merengue and he did a fantastic job! Everyone had a blast and I hope we can do it again the next time we're all together. I highly recommend this as a great family event. Thank you Arthur Murray
